CM Ch Parvez Elahi inaugurates 3.91 billion Shahkam Chowk flyover project

Lahore, October 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi inaugurated the Shahkam Chowk Flyover project on Tuesday. He said that the Shahkam Chowk flyover will save time and ensure ease for citizens. The cost of this flyover project is 3 billion, 91 crore rupees and the three-lane, dual-way flyover is 606 meters long. Signal-free corridor facility will be available for one lakh, 20 thousand vehicles daily. The estimated cost of the project was four billion, 23 crore rupees and Rs.31.40 crores have been saved in the project.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony, the CM said that since Shehbaz Sharif became the prime minister, he is busy destabilizing the Punjab government. The results of the by-elections are in front of everyone. The results have shaken Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government. The N-League and PDM do not understand what they have to do now and God willing they will not understand. The PML-N itself is a qabza group and has engaged such people to further this agenda.

The CM regretted that the N-League is also doing politics on wheat. Shehbaz Sharif’s enmity with the people of Punjab has come to the fore; he said and pointed out that the federal government gave wheat to all the provinces except Punjab. It gave wheat to Sindh but disallowed Punjab to import wheat; he regretted and added that the federal government is neither giving wheat to Punjab nor allowing us to import it.

He said that the federal government has to pay the dues of 170 billion rupees to the Punjab government and it has also stopped it. The PML-N is openly hostile to Punjab and in these circumstances, how do they ask for votes from the people of Punjab? We are going to the Supreme Court against the behaviour of the federal government, he announced.

Shehbaz Sharif also disbanded the Al-Mubarak Centre project like other welfare-oriented schemes, he cited. A five-star hotel and a rooftop food court, as big as a football ground, will be built in Al-Mubarak Center. Traffic problems will also be avoided by connecting Al-Mubarak Center with Qaddafi Stadium through a tunnel. Parking facilities for 7,000 vehicles will be available at Al-Mubarak Center, he remarked.

He said that a patrolling post and rescue 1122 center will also be built to ensure law and order in the housing societies adjacent to Shahkam Chowk. The money for building these facilities would be taken from the owners of the housing societies. He said that the private housing societies do not construct sewerage which creates problems. The private housing societies must ensure the provision of sewerage, roads and other facilities in their schemes before advertising, he said.

Notices will be issued to the housing societies to develop sewerage and other facilities before construction. Private housing societies are being given a week in this regard; he added and warned that action will be taken against those societies that do not comply. Societies should also give facilities to those from which they are earning money. He said that the land transfer fee has been reduced by 100 percent for the convenience of the common man. The reduction in transfer fee is improving the property business.

According to the vision of Imran Khan, work has also been started on the RUDA and CBD projects. Similarly, the Lahore master plan has been approved to deal with rising population and traffic problems. Green and brown areas have been reserved for construction in Lahore, he said. The government will also arrange an underground travel facility within the city of Lahore; he disclosed and maintained that this project will be a great gift for the citizens of Lahore. The CM mentioned that the work on the underground project started in his previous term but Shehbaz Sharif stopped it too. 31 crore rupees were saved in the Shahkam Chowk flyover project, for which, I congratulate DG LDA and his team, he concluded.

Senior Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal also addressed the ceremony and said that Shehbaz Sharif has turned Lahore into a concrete city and destroyed its beauty. When Chaudhry Parvez Elahi became the chief minister in 2002, he made a plan to run an underground train, but Shehbaz Sharif stopped it. The burn center project at Jinnah Hospital Lahore was also started by Parvaiz Elahi but the N-League government stopped it too. Parvez Elahi has a long list of projects including Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology, Mayo Hospital’s surgical tower and rescue 1122 etc. He gave numerous welfare projects to the people of Punjab and these are still remembered by them.

He said that the Sharifs have played havoc with justice and all of them are corrupt to the core. Imran Khan is the voice of the nation and his narrative is the narrative of the nation, he added. DG LDA informed about the salient features of the project. Members of the assembly including Malik Karamat Ali Khokhar, Sarfraz Hussain Khokhar, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Nadeem Bara, Sadia Sohail, former principal secretary GM Sikandar, commissioner Lahore, secretary information, deputy.

SACM for strict action against owner, driver of ‘killer’ bus involved in 6 accidents killing 21 commuters on Thar-Karachi route

Karachi, October 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Human Rights Surendar Valasai has asked the Transport and Police Departments for strict action against the owner and driver of a ‘killer’ bus, which killed 21 persons in six different accidents on the same route between Mithi and Karachi.

In a communiqué to the Secretary Transport and IGP Sindh, the PPP MPA from Thar said that bus no. BSA-784 with its driver Abdullah is reportedly involved in six road accidents resulting in deaths of 21 passengers with the same man in driving seat during every mishap.

According to information received through social media the above bus plying between Karachi and Mithi met accidents at Morjhar, Nindu, Khoski, Thatta, Sujawal and last one at Karo Goongro on its route killing four persons last week, he pointed out adding, “God forbid, facing no music as per law, the said bus, its owner and driver named above may continue to playing with the lives of passengers and the commuters”.

Surendar Valasai said that it is surprising the both Transport and Police Departments and their subordinates manning the above route with their particular duties have taken no action i.e. neither the said bus has been impounded nor the driver is arrested. Moreover, the Transport Department also failed to press the owner of the bus to off-load the driver.

SACM for Human Rights further said that such negligence is not only a criminal one nature but a sheer violation of human rights of the commuters because ensuring their safety remains the prime responsibility of the transporter while action by Police against the reckless transporter and the driver is also invisible so far. He asked Police Department for immediate arrest of the reckless driver, impounding of bus and action against the transporter for allowing the same driver to play with the lives of passengers after repeated road accidents.

SIT Rolos opens its Machine Intelligence Platform to academia and business to accelerate the research

SCHAFFHAUSEN, Switzerland, Oct. 18, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SIT Rolos announced today that it would bring research to a new level by opening its Machine Intelligence (MI) Platform to all scientific groups. Any researcher from academia or business can now configure, run and collaborate with others on their computational research project through Rolos Platform. Thanks to a user-friendly interface, no specific IT knowledge is required to use the Platform.

Rolos Platform addresses two major problems in research: infrastructure setup and teamwork. First, it provides premade infrastructure ready for research tasks with all the necessary resources out of the box – Graphics Processor Unit (GPU), Central Processing Unit (CPU), and storage. Researchers, therefore, no longer need to spend time on infrastructure setup and resource allocation. On the other hand, the Platform also ensures collaboration on a project – code and data versioning control, group editing, and consistent changes for all project participants.

Rolos allows its users to build their computational setups using the available cloud, on-premise servers, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) clusters and save costs on running simulation experiments. SIT Rolos can also provide its own resources from the cloud infrastructure in SIT data centers.

Rolos Platform is available through two types of deployments:

  • as a SaaS solution (Software as a Service) in Rolos Cloud, that can be accessed at http://my.rolos.com; or
  • as an on-premises installation on the customer’s hardware cluster that provides the full stack of software to create a computational research lab.

In the words of Konstantin Novoselov, Nobel Prize Winner, Professor of Physics at the National University of Singapore, Rolos Platform is used “to unify data from different scientists, unleash the power of Big Data, and achieve exponential progress in research projects.”

Rolos Platform features include:

  • Computing and storage resources automatic provisioning
  • Research environment management
  • A workflow manager
  • An Interactive Papers publishing module

Mosa Meat Scaling Beef Cultivation to Industrial Production Levels

Recent expansion to 77,000 sq ft. makes Mosa Meat the largest cultivated meat campus in the world.

Maastricht, The Netherlands, Oct. 18, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mosa Meat, a leader in the cultivated meat space that grows beef directly from animal cells, and unveiled the first cultivated hamburger in 2013, has announced the next step in the scale up of the company’s cultivated beef production facilities.

A new industrial production development center is being developed close to Mosa Meat’s existing pilot facility in Maastricht. After demonstrating the beef cultivation process at pilot scale, Mosa Meat is now ready for the next phase of expansion, housing industrial-size production lines and enabling larger production quantities of beef.

“We’ve expanded our space by 30,000 square feet in our next phase, which brings Mosa Meat’s total footprint to over 77,000 square feet,” shared Maarten Bosch, Mosa Meat’s CEO. “This makes us the largest cultivated meat campus in the world, and provides a solid foundation for our European and global commercialisation plans.”

Global meat consumption is projected to grow more than 40% by 2030, and Mosa Meat is part of a growing global movement to transform the way meat is produced. Beef specifically, is the protein with the highest carbon footprint, which is why Mosa Meat has focused on it since the company was founded in 2016.

Mosa Meat has grown to over 160 employees, with over 80 scientists and the largest number of PhDs in the industry in just a few years’ time. The production team has grown five-fold in the last three months to 15 members. Simultaneously the company has also expanded its footprint at existing locations, including operations at Brightlands and the current pilot facility in Maastricht, where R&D capacity continues to grow. Together, this brings Mosa Meat one step closer towards commercialisation.

Mosa Meat plans to announce the launch of its industrial production development center in 2023.

Emerson’s First Power-Over-Ethernet Transmitter Supports Customers’ Upgrades and Retrofits

With small form factor and advanced software, the Micro Motion 1600 Coriolis Transmitter is a cost-effective, scalable PoE solution to help improve process efficiency

SINGAPORE, Oct. 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ –Today Emerson introduced its first power-over-Ethernet (PoE) Coriolis flow measurement device for the food and beverage, life sciences and chemical industries. The Micro Motion 1600 Coriolis Transmitter is designed to be a scalable solution for facilities wanting to make a gradual transition to remote flow data collection, monitoring and configuration.

Micro Motion(TM) ELITE Coriolis Meter Consisting of CMFS050M Sensor and 1600 Transmitter

With traditional Ethernet, optional PoE and an additional licensable configurable output, the 1600 delivers a powerful solution for customers looking for a flow measurement device that will grow with their process and is easily integrated into a control system.

PoE can deliver power and data over a single Ethernet cable, which means no new cabling will need to be installed, saving customers up to 50% in installation and maintenance costs. The Micro Motion 1600 transmitter can use just PoE or have a separate direct current (DC) power input, depending on wiring availability. The smallest PoE Coriolis transmitter on the market, the 1600 is available in aluminum or hygienic stainless steel. The compact size and lightweight design are an added space-saving benefit for skid designers.

The transmitter is equipped with a multilanguage four-line local operator interface (LOI), a suite of advanced software solutions including Smart Meter Verification, Data Historian, Concentration Measurement and Advanced Phase Measurement, as well as an additional licensable channel that can be configured for analog, frequency or discrete output and a USB-C service port. The reliable, high-quality data it collects allows for greater process efficiency, which minimizes product and process waste, reduces emissions by giving visibility to entrained gas events, and results in a more efficient consumption of power.

“The Micro Motion 1600 transmitter offers customers a purpose-fit device in both form factor and capabilities for the demands of the food & beverage and life sciences industries as they strive to achieve more efficient, reliable and sustainable operations,” said Melissa Steigler, food and beverage industry director at Emerson.
