Faisalabad, February 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):Society of Textile Knitters, Department of Textile Engineering, arranged a visit of K.M. Ashraf and Sons (PVT) LTD, Sialkot, for the final year knitting students on 29th Jan 2022. K.M. Ashraf is a vertically integrated unit and develops knitted sports garments for the U.S market. The students observed the working of the weft and warp knitting machine, knitting quality control, process parameters, processing, and garment manufacturing. This visit provided the opportunity to learn about the process parameters and working environment of the industry.

Faisalabad, February 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):Society of Textile Weavers arranged a hands-on workshop for the students of Textile Engineering (Weaving) on 28th Jan 2022. Honourable Speaker, Dr. Madeha Jabbar, delivered a lecture on “Modeling woven fabrics using TexGen”. Certificates were distributed to the participants at the end of the workshop.

Faisalabad, February 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):Dr. Andrea Favazzi (the representative of ASSOMAC Italian Association for Leather and Footwear, PISIE, Italian Polytechnic Institute for Textile and Leather Industry) visited National Textile University Faisalabad on 27th January 2022.

Dr. Munir Ashraf (Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering, NTU) welcomed the honourable guest and briefed him in detail about the Textile Technology Centre established at NTU with the support of the Italian Government and Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers. During the visit, a meeting was arranged with Rector, NTU (Dr. Tanveer Hussain) and Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, NTU (Dr. Yasir Nawab). Dr. Andrea Favazzi desired to cooperate further with National Textile University, Faisalabad.

Faisalabad, February 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):Department of Textile Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), National Textile University, Faisalabad, arranged an alumni meet-up to pay tribute to Prof. Muhammad Baland Iqbal (late) for his excellent services for the university. Various industrialists, faculty members, students, and stakeholders participated in this event to thank their beloved teacher for his efforts, dedication, and hard work.

Prof. Tanveer Hussain (Rector) acknowledged the contribution and services of Prof. Baland Iqbal for National Textile University and announced to dedicate SET multipurpose Hall to the name of “Prof. M. Baland Iqbal Hall”. He also motivated teachers to follow the footsteps of the legend teacher.

He announced Teaching Excellence Awards (Prof. Buland Iqbal Award) for increasing the faculty’s dedication to make exemplary efforts for the students. Dean SET, Dr. Yasir Nawab, recognized the selfless contribution of Prof. M. Baland Iqbal and announced Prof. Buland Iqbal Scholarship for the needy students. SET teachers, alumni and industrialists will contribute donations for this scholarship. Dr. Munir Ashraf (HoD, Department of Textile Engineering) also shared some of the great memories of the departed soul. Glimpses of the event can be seen in the pictures.
