PM should not only be careful but beware of wrong advice of his advisors, it only harms Imran Khan: Ch Shujat Hussain 

Lahore, January 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujat Hussain has said that for the first time, I am telling Prime Minister Imran Khan to be not only cautious but also aware of the wrong advice of his advisors and political spokespersons and see whose game they are playing, how they are playing and why they are playing.

He said that when his advisors give any advice to Imran Khan, there is some angle in it, they bounce things according to their thinking which only harms Imran Khan; therefore Imran Khan should not only be careful but also beware of them. Ch Shujat Hussain said that the statement of Imran Khan must have been given by an enemy in a friend’s disguise in which he said that I am obstructed from speaking in the assembly, I come and speak in the media and if I am removed I will become more dangerous than before. When Imran Khan is obstructed from speaking in the assembly, the privileged members sitting there are they deaf and dumb who allow others to speak against Imran Khan.

He said that if we ask for any kind of statement for the sake of accuracy then the nescient advisors immediately whisper in Imran Khan’s ear that do not take any lenient attitude towards them. The advisors know the real thing but they are looking for an opportunity to guide Imran Khan according to their interests. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan should surely listen carefully to the advice of those who are sincere with him and not consider them as enemies.

Ch Shujat Hussain said that Imran Khan is making statements about inflation these days and it is being said from various sides that he is responsible for inflation and deteriorating economy, they do not say that whenever petrol price is increased this is to the advantage of the hoarders who sell cheap petrol at double the price. There are hundreds of such examples from which hoarders are benefiting.

Shocked at Tariq Aziz’s posting as DPO Vehari: Jawwad Hamid 

Lahore, January 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):MQI leader and complainant in the Model Town tragedy case Jawwad Hamid has strongly reacted to the appointment of police officer Tariq Aziz as District Police Officer Vehari. It is important to remember that the said police officer is a central character in the Model Town case and one of the chief nominations in the FIR. He said that the killers involved in the Model Town tragedy continue to get favourite postings and promotions in this government’s tenure as they were in that of the last one. He said that the anti-terrorism court has summoned Tariq Aziz as an accused, stating that no court of law has given him a clean chit yet.

Jawwad Hamid said when those accused in the high-profile cases of killings are given top positions in the police hierarchy, then the law and order situation will go from bad to worse. He said that we would bring all those characters to justice who played any role in murdering our workers. He further said that the blood of the PAT workers is included in the formation of the government of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf. He said that whenever any accused gets posting or promotion, it angers us to no end, adding that Imran Khan should rather be standing with the oppressed.

Jawad Ahmad said that the PAT workers were shocked to learn about the posting of Tariq Aziz as District Police Officer Vehari because he is involved in the killing of the 14 innocent workers in Model Town. He said that the important characters and accused of the Model Town case are being accommodated in better positions during the tenure of the present government. He said that seven years have gone by but the oppressed of Model Town tragedy have not got any justice.

HBL PSL 2022: Updates from the Technical Committee meeting

Karachi, January 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):The HBL Pakistan Super League 2022 Technical Committee met on Monday to discuss matters relating to the PCB’s marquee event.

Following are some of the key outcomes:

Imam-ul-Haq and Omair Bin Yousuf have been added to the reserve pool of players in place of Salman Ali Agha and Musadiq Ahmed, who are unavailable

Imam-ul-Haq and Ammad Butt from the reserve pool of players were allowed to join Peshawar Zalmi as partial preplacement for Arshad Iqbal and Kamran Akmal, who had tested positive on 21 and 22 January, respectively

Each side will be allowed a maximum of 20 players at any given time. Player replaced will be allowed to rejoin the side but will require the Technical Committee’s approval

The Technical Committee of the HBL Pakistan Super League 2022 is: Zakir Khan (chair), Nadeem Khan and Sameer Khosa.

PCB mourns passing of Aftab Baloch

Lahore, January 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Pakistan Cricket Board today expressed its sadness following the death of Aftab Baloch, who in 1969 made his Test debut at the age of 16 against New Zealand in Dhaka. He was 69.

Aftab scored 25 in his only innings in the drawn Test and had to wait for six years for his second and final Test in which he scored 12 and 60 not out against the West Indies in Lahore.

Aftab remains the sixth youngest player to make a Test debut and is remembered for his 428 (584 minutes, 25×4) in Karachi as Sindh captain against Balochistan in the 1973-74 season. In the same match, Javed Miandad, playing his eighth first-class match, scored 100 and added 174 runs for the fifth wicket with Aftab as Sindh declared their first innings at 951 for seven in reply to Balochistan’s 93 and then skittled out the visitors for the second time for 283.

Aftab ended his 172-match first-class career with 9,171 runs (41.68 average) and 223 wickets (31.62).

After retirement, Aftab Baloch served as Pakistan U19 team manager as well as junior selector. He was presently a member of the Sindh Cricket Association.

PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja: “I am deeply saddened to hear the passing of Aftab Baloch, who was one the most popular cricketers when I was growing. I not only had the privilege of watching him in action, but also played against him in the twilight of his career.

“As he was a close friend of my late brother Wasim Hasan Raja, I knew him well outside the field of play and always admired him for his passion, love and understanding of the game. He was gentle, friendly and caring, and had qualities that made him a widely respected and loved person.

“On behalf of the PCB, I would like to pass our condolences to Aftab Baloch’s family, close friends and the Sindh Cricket Association at this difficult time.”
