29th Meeting of Board of Advanced Studies and Research held at Capital University

Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): 29th Board of Advances Studies and Research (BASR) meeting of CUST was held on January 11, 2022. The BASR considered degree completion cases of MS and PhD. The Board showed its satisfaction over the Academic as well as the Research Productivity of the University. The Vice-Chancellor thanked the Deans, HoDs, Faculty Members, and Support Staff for their devotion towards academic excellence and cooperation. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the Chair as well as the participants of the meeting.

Punjab University Vice Chancellor condolence message

Lahore, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): The mother of Punjab University’s Director School of Communication Studies Dr Noshina Saleem has passed away. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Akhter has expressed his grief and sorrow over her sad demise. In his condolence message, the VC prayed that departed soul may rest in eternal peace and Almighty Allah may grant courage to the members of bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The funeral prayer of the deceased was offered at Bahria Town in which hundreds of people from various walks of life participated. She was later buried at Miani Sb’s graveyard.

IIUI, Islamic Development Bank discuss scholarships

Islamabad, January 14, 2022 (PPI-OT): A virtual meeting of the International Islamic University (IIU) officials with the representatives of Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) was held on Tuesday. meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nabi Bux Jumani, VP (A and F), Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed VP (R and E), Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar VP (Academics), Dr. Ali Metab Alahmari Director (President Office, IIUI) and Ms. Nuzhat Zareen Director (UA and P), IIUI.

The IsDB and IIUI officials discussed various relevant topics while IsDB officials were requested to widen the scope for approved field of studies. Management of IsDB assured to extend maximum cooperation and collaboration for improvement in socio economic conditions of Muslim communities.

In the meeting, Mr. Lakdhar Kadkadi, Manager, Scholarship Division, IsDB said that the IsDB Scholarship Programme is more than just a scholarship programme in the traditional sense of a straight financial assistance to the outstanding and qualified students. He added that it is also a tool for the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of the Member Countries and Muslim communities.

From the IsDB side, Other than Mr. Lakdhar Kadkadi the meeting was also attended by Mr. Ali Yazdani Filed Representative, IsDB, Mr. Nazar El-Hilali, and Syed Afzal Jamil Scholarship Programme Specialist Scholarship Division, STI, IsDB Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
