Lahore, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique; Professor/ Director, Institute of Applied Psychology, University of the Punjab gave a keynote address on Contemporary Issues in Psychology and long-standing debates in Psychology in the International Research Symposium of Psychology: Challenges in Contemporary Psychology, Lahore Garrison University. Dignitary scholars and chairpersons were the part of panel in the inaugural session including Dr. Saima Ghazal; Associate Professor at IAP whose discussion was on The Role of Social Sciences Research in Socioeconomic Development of Pakistan.

Imran Khan fools people by pretending to be honest: Shazia Atta Marri

Karachi, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): Central Information Secretary PPP-P and member of the National Assembly Shazia Atta Marri has said that Imran Khan Niazi had been made people fool by pretending to be an honest leader and he was persistly rewarding those who had been running his kitchen and bearing others expenses, while he had been increased burden of inflation over the shoulders of poor masses. This she said in a statement issued hereon today. She said that a person who have never borne his expenses and never paid the school fees of his children, how could he care about other peoples.

She added that Imran Niazi even sold his gifted watch during his official visit while, today country is facing critical financial crisis and nation’s treasury is being ruled by International Monetary Fund (IMF). Ms Marri said that country was being gone through a tsunami of unprecedented inflation while PTI-led incompetent government has planned to prepare a new mini-budget and perhaps, that would also be proved anti-people budget. She further said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has forgotten that he would be held accountable by the people whom he had made cry due to his bad economic policies.

She said that no one is happy with PTI’s government including the fishermen of Gwadar or farmers of the country and Pakistan was being ruled by a gang of mafias and their chief is selected Prime Minister Imran Khan. Shazia Marri uttered that Pakistan has a need of a courageous leadership like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who could only run country’s affairs properly and hoping that soon these incompetent rulers would be ousted and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be elected as next Prime Minister of Pakistan by votes of the people.

UVAS, Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation ink MoU providing scholarships to deserving/talented students for getting higher studies

Lahore, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and the Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” for the award of 10 scholarships to needy/deserving talented students to reduce their financial hardship and support them for getting higher studies. The objective of the MoU was to provide opportunities to students for the enhancement of skills through career counselling related to their field and polish them for practical life especially for their bright future.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad and Chairman Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation/Renowned Analyst Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami signed the MoU in a ceremony held at UVAS, City Campus on Tuesday. Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani, Dean Faculty of Biosciences Prof Dr Habib-ur-Rehman, Executive Director Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation Mr Khalid Irshad Sufi, senior professors, Assistan Director Financial Aid Qaiser Hussain and members of “Scholarship Award Committee” were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami spoke about the objectives of Karwan-e-Ilm Foundation for the welfare of students. He said that our public sector institutions play marvellous role for imparting quality of education and research to students especially in the harsh period of Covid-19. He also acknowledged the role of UVAS for the development of livestock sector. He said Karwan-e-Ilm focusing on those students who are getting higher studies and support them through scholarships to solve their financial problem and prepare them for practical life.

Addressing the MoU signing ceremony, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad thanked to Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami for providing financial support in terms of scholarship to talented deserving students of UVAS. He said that this cooperation will be very beneficial for needy/deserving who are facing financial constraints during their studies. Earlier, he briefed Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami on various undergraduate degree programmes of the university and providing testing facility to detect corona virus by UVAS BSL-3 for general public.

Sports Board Punjab conducts trials of Punjab’s U-17 boys, U-16 Girls boxing teams on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan

Lahore, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): The trials of Punjab’s U-17 boys, U-16 Girls boxing teams were held at Nishtar Park Sports Complex (NPSC) Gymnasium Hall on the directions of Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan on Tuesday. More than 60 boys and girls from all nine divisions of the province took part in the boxing trials. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan in a statement on Tuesday said after the trials, Punjab’s U-17 boys, U-16 Girls boxing teams will participate in Inter-Provincial Under-17 Boys, U-16 Girls Boxing Tournament scheduled to be staged in Karachi on Dec 22 to 23, 2021.

Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said that the basic purpose of back-to-back Inter-Provincial sports competitions is to provide sufficient opportunities to young talented players of different games to demonstrate their game skills and nurture their potential. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan urged Punjab’s boxing players to exhibit their true fighting spirit in the mega event in which top boxing teams of the country will participate.

He said Sports Board Punjab is utilizing all resources to promote sports culture in all parts of the province. “We are also going to organise Mir Chakar Azam Rind Games in South Punjab from Dec 21 to 31. Country’s top players from different games will participate in the grand event of Mir Chakar Azam Rind Games scheduled to be organized in DG Khan and Taunsa Shareef”.

Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan said: “Mir Chakar Azam Rind Games will provide a suitable platform to talented players of far-flung areas to express their sports skills. South Punjab was literally ignored in the past when it comes to promotion of sports. Young talented male and female players of South Punjab should take part in Mir Chakar Azam Rind Games with full devotion and preparation”. Director General Sports Punjab Javed Chohan further said that the competitions of volleyball, hockey, shooting volleyball and Dangal will be organized in DG Khan and Taunsa from Dec 21 to 31.

Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum distributes prizes among successful teams at ‘Kaun Baney ga Punjab ka Boxing Champion’ event

Lahore, December 14, 2021 (PPI-OT): The boxing competitions of ‘Kaun Baney ga Punjab ka Boxing Champion’ concluded at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall on Monday. Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum was the chief guest on this occasion. He also witnessed thrilling boxing competitions of the event.

Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum distributed prizes among the successful teams at the closing ceremony where the participating teams also had group photographs with him. Punjab Boxing Association (PBA) organized the grand boxing event with the collaboration of Sports Board Punjab in which around 180 boxers from all nine divisions of Punjab took part in the boxing event.

Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Vice-Chairman Sports Board Punjab Rao Zahid Qayyum appreciated the boxing skills of young male and female pugilists belonging to different divisions of the province. “Kaun Baney ga Punjab ka Boxing Champion’ provided a suitable platform to talented boxers of the province. “Sports Board Punjab will continue to hold more such boxing events in future,” he added.
