Turbat, The University of Turbat (UoT) has announced a new shuttle service for prospective students of the 2024 session. This initiative, directed by the Vice Chancellor of UoT, is designed to simplify the admission process by providing transportation for students to the Main Campus for document verification and fee submission.
According to University of Turbat, the shuttle service will operate from the City Campus Law Department to the Main Campus. The service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM from the City Campus Law Department and will return from the Main Campus at 02:00 PM. This facility will be available from the 1st to the 8th of January 2024, excluding Saturdays and Sundays. The university has also issued an important notice regarding admissions: if a student on the 1st merit list fails to deposit the 1st-semester admission fees/dues by the due date of 8th January 2024, their admission will be canceled. In such cases, students on the waiting list will be considered for admission in accordance with the university’s admission policy.
This shuttle service is part of the university’s effort to facilitate the enrollment process for new students, ensuring a smooth transition into their academic life at UoT.
Lahore, The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) welcomed its alumni back for a memorable and nostalgic evening at its annual Homecoming event on Saturday, December 23, 2023. The event, celebrated as the year’s most anticipated reunion, provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with friends, faculty, and classmates, reminiscing about their cherished times at the University.
According to Lahore University of Management Sciences, the event began with a heartfelt speech from Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director of Advancement and an MBA ’88 alumna, who highlighted the University’s accomplishments over the past year. She commended the alumni for their significant advancements and ongoing contributions to LUMS.
Rector Mr. Shahid Hussain discussed the University’s significant efforts and encouraged alumni to continue supporting LUMS, emphasizing the importance of holding onto the values and lessons learned during their time at the University.
Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Acting Vice Chancellor and Vice Provost, announced the recipients of this year’s Vice Chancellor’s Alumni Achievement Awards (VC AAA), celebrating alumni for their notable accomplishments in various sectors and contributions to communities both locally and globally. Mr. Yahya Iqbal Ismail, an MBA ’97 alum, accepted the recognition on behalf of the cohort, highlighting the alumni’s international impact.
Pro Vice Chancellor Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood acknowledged the benefits of LUMS’ extensive alumni network and emphasized the importance of maintaining community connections. He reflected on the University’s 40-year legacy of innovation and the importance of alumni in shaping a better future for Pakistan.
The evening also featured a trivia game about LUMS, engaging alumni in a lively competition for prizes. The annual musical event was replaced by a conversation between Mr. Adeel Hashmi and Dr. Arfa Sayeda Zehra on education’s essence and the role of alumni in society.
The event concluded with Speed Networking and an electrifying raffle, adding excitement to the evening. The successful Homecoming celebration was supported by its gold sponsor, PepsiCo, and left the alumni community looking forward to future gatherings and continued engagement with their alma mater.
