Lahore: In a significant development for technological and academic collaboration, The Centre for Geographical Information System (CGIS) at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing Science (SLRSS) at the Aerospace Information Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (AIRCAS), Beijing. This agreement, signed during a recent international conference, aims to enhance mutual exchanges and resource sharing in the fields of remote sensing and GIS.
According to University of the Punjab, The MoU was formalized at the “Integrated Remote Sensing Monitoring of Ecosystems in the Asia-Oceania Hotspot” conference held on June 4, 2024, in Beijing. The agreement was signed in the presence of leading academics and researchers from both institutions, including Dr. Sawaid Abbas and Prof. Dr. Shahid Ghazi of CGIS, who joined via Zoom, alongside SLRSS director Prof. Dr. Qinhuo Liu and other dignitaries.
