University of Haripur Celebrates Completion of Quranic Understanding Master Trainer Program

Haripur, The Department of Islamic and Religious Studies at the University of Haripur proudly announced the conclusion of the “Master Trainer Programme: Quran Understanding Course.” The program, which ran from February 5 to February 29, 2024, was designed to develop participants into educators capable of imparting a deeper understanding of the Qur’an.

According to The University of Haripur, the training led by Mr. Ajmal Abbasi, was intensive and interactive, utilizing the Total Physical Interaction method to engage learners fully. The program’s closing ceremony was graced by the University of Haripur Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, Registrar Mr. Riaz Muhammad, faculty members, and special guest Mr. Sadiq Ahmad Roghani from the Character Education Foundation in Islamabad.

Out of the initial 27 applicants, 20 were chosen for their academic merit, knowledge of Arabic and Quranic studies, and teaching abilities. Nineteen participants successfully completed the program, and six excelled to be designated as Master Trainers. In the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shafiq Ur Rahman and Mr. Ajmal Abbasi presented certificates to all the participants, while Mr. Abbasi received a commemorative shield for his role as lead trainer. Additionally, Mr. Sadiq Ahmad Roghani bestowed a souvenir upon the Vice Chancellor.

The university is looking forward to expanding the course, proposing its inclusion as a general subject across several departments in the coming Spring term and considering further teacher training to broaden the program’s scope and depth. The successful initiative is set to extend its impact, offering greater access to Quranic learning throughout the University of Haripur starting Fall 2024.
