Bahawalpur, July 10, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamia University Bahawalpur has a prominent position among universities across the region. In keeping with the glorious traditions of the past, Islamia University Bahawalpur in association with International Quran Research Association (IQRA), International Islamic University Islamabad, South West University, Chicago, Birmingham University, England, British Muslim Association, England and organized a two-day international Quran conference with the support of academic institutions like Islam Week, which was attended by thousands of people from all over the world.
The conference was streamed live on YouTube. On this occasion, the President of Iqra, Dr. Safi Qas Qas, who is also a translator of the Qur’an, while highlighting the objectives of the conference, said that the purpose of this program is to provide a platform for researchers, translators of the Qur’an and scholars from all over the world. Through which they can do research in Quranic sciences better and better with the help of modern technology. He as hosts He thanked all the participants of the conference, welcomed them and expressed good wishes.
On the occasion, Islamia University Vice-Chancellor Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that 30 Quran translators will present their experiences to scholars in this conference. All these translators translated the Holy Quran into English language. This conference has proved to be very important in the sense that it has helped in understanding the style of the Holy Quran and its related sciences. Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiqur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies said that the purpose of the conference was to apply the use of modern technology in the research on the art of translation of the Quran and to popularize the teaching of Quranic ethics.
President of Iqra in Pakistan, Zain Malik represented the country and handled the affairs of the conference across the country. Citing the example of famous economist and translator of Quran, Dr. Badr Hashmi, he said that through this conference There are new people who are making a name for themselves in the service of the Qur’an by being associated with fields like economy and medicine. Addressing the participants of the conference, Dr. Zia-ul-Haq from the Institute of Islamic Research, International Islamic University Islamabad said that such events are a living example of the unity of the Muslim Ummah and without a doubt, holding tightly to the rope of the Quran is our unity is a symbol.
