Turkish Red Crescent and Pakistan Red Crescent Strengthen Humanitarian Ties

Islamabad, A delegation from the Turkish Red Crescent, led by Head of Delegation Mr. Ergest LIMKA, met with Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari, Chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), at the National Headquarters in Islamabad. This meeting marked a significant step in reinforcing the humanitarian collaboration between the two organizations, focusing on enhancing community welfare in Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Red Crescent Society, the interaction began with Chairman Laghari expressing solidarity and recognizing the long-standing partnership between the two organizations. He highlighted the crucial role of the Turkish Red Crescent in providing support during numerous humanitarian crises both in Pakistan and globally.

Mr. Ergest LIMKA from the Turkish Red Crescent reciprocated these sentiments, commending the PRCS for its extensive humanitarian work within Pakistan. The discussions covered various cooperation aspects, including support for the ongoing PRCS recovery program in Sindh and Baluchistan. Areas of collaboration include livelihood initiatives, Cash Voucher Assistance (CVA), nutrition, shelter, and migration programs, as well as support for Iftaar and Qurbani projects.

Chairman Laghari expressed his gratitude for the Turkish Red Crescent’s continued support and committed to a close working relationship to strengthen the partnership further. The meeting aimed to deliver impactful, life-saving services to those in need, reflecting the shared mission of both organizations to alleviate suffering and improve the well-being of vulnerable communities.

The meeting concluded with a symbolic exchange of tokens of appreciation, underscoring the mutual commitment to humanitarian causes. Chairman Laghari presented a memento to Mr. Ergest LIMKA, marking the visit’s significance and the continuing collaboration between the Turkish Red Crescent and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society.
