Turbat, In a significant recognition of his contributions to literature and education, Professor Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch, a renowned figure at the University of Turbat (UoT), has been awarded the “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” by the President of Pakistan. The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Saboor by the caretaker Governor of Balochistan, Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, during a special ceremony held at Governor House Quetta on Pakistan Day, acknowledging his extensive work in the fields of literature, criticism, history, and education.
According to University of Turbat, Dr. Saboor’s career is marked by a profound dedication to the development of literature and language studies in Balochistan. As the Dean of the Faculty of Literature and Languages and Director of the Institute of Balochi Language and Culture (IBLC) at UoT, his efforts have greatly contributed to the enrichment of cultural and historical understanding within the academic community and beyond. His role as the 1st Pro Vice-Chancellor of UoT, a position he was appointed to in recognition of his academic services, further highlights his significant contributions to the institution.
