Lahore: Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, has urged Pakistan’s youth to move beyond hatred on social media and adopt a positive outlook on the country’s future. Speaking at the Prime Minister’s Laptop Distribution Scheme Phase-IV ceremony at Punjab University, Tarar emphasized the importance of constructive thinking among young students as they are considered the nation’s most valuable asset.
During his address, Tarar highlighted the need for significant investment in skill-based and need-oriented education. He noted that while many children still lack resources, the government is committed to ensuring that talented students are not deprived of necessary technological tools. The laptop distribution scheme, initiated by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has expanded nationwide and played a crucial role during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Tarar.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, PM’s Special Assistant Talha Barki, Minister for Public Affairs Rana Mubashir Iqbal, and MNA Shaista Parvez Malik. Prof Dr Muhammad Ali praised the scheme’s positive impact, stating that it has transformed students’ lives by promoting the constructive use of technology.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ali also stressed the importance of women’s advancement for Pakistan’s development. He noted that Punjab University alumni, including Azam Nazeer Tarar, play a significant role in the top judiciary, and that the university’s College of Information Technology serves a large portion of Lahore’s IT market.
The Vice Chancellor expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the initiative, which will provide laptops to 3,140 talented students at Punjab University. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to integrating modern technology into education and maintaining a peaceful learning environment for students.
