Bilingual poetry competition held during the student’s week 

Khairpur, November 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Bilingual Poetry Competition was held during the Students Week at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Directorate of Students Affairs. A large number of students participated in the event. After competition, Syed Nasir Ali Shah, Ms. Kanwal Sindhi and Mr. Ghulam Rasool secured first, second and third positions respectively in Sindhi competition while Syed Ibtehaj Hyder Zaidi, Syed Ali Hyder Zaidi, Ms. Lareb Irfan Mughal and Mr. Nisar Hameed secured first, second and third positions respectively in Urdu competition.

Mr. Mir Sobdar Saeed, Mr. Khawand Dino Larik and Ms. Muneera Sajjad performed as judges of the competition. Prof. Dr. Masihullah Jatoi presided the event. He said there is great potential among the students regarding their poetic ideas. The purpose of this event aimed at to promote the sense of competition and to produce the talented youth so they could play their intellectual role in the society. Dr. Jatoi commended the efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmad Ibupoto for providing a viable platform to students to participate in the healthy and positive activities at the campus.

A large number of teachers and students attended the competition. Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Students Advisor (Girls) and Dr. Nazar Hussain Kalwar, Students Advisor (Boys) were the organizers of the event.

Seminar on Allama Iqbal “Aao Azam Karain Iqbal Kay Shaheen Baney” held 

Khairpur, November 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Seminar on the contribution of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal on titled “Aao Azam Karain Iqbal Kay Shaheen Baney” was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Hope Students Society. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided the seminar.

While addressing the seminar, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the philosophy and teachings of Dr. Iqbal were based on Khudi and struggle. His message was directly related with the youth. Hakim-ul-Ummat Allama Iqbal struggled for the establishment of separate homeland in the name of Pakistan. He said his poetry was against imperialism and other foreign dominating powers at that time. He stressed the students to follow the path of Dr. Iqbal because he addressed to the youth as symbolic as Shaheen.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Convener Coordination and Monitoring Committee of Students Societies Services Centre cordially welcomed the Vice Chancellor and the participants of the seminar. He said that this is the first ever Students Societies Service Centre organizing co-curricular activities for the capacity building of the students since its establishment number of activities have been conducted in befitting manner.

Prof. Dr. Sajjad Ali Raeesi, Director Institute of Islamic Studies shed light on the various aspects of the life of the Dr. Iqbal. He advised the students to be aware from the contribution of Iqbal’s message and teaching and practically adopt in their normal life so the soft message of Dr. Allama Iqbal may be disseminated among the youth.

Dr. Siraj Ahmed Soomro, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies also shed light on the poetic, political and religious services of Dr. Iqbal. He said Dr. Iqbal was world’s eminent poet. He suggested that Allama Iqbal Corner may be established in the Department of Urdu to embark research work on the life of the Dr. Allama Iqbal because he rendered marvellous political, philosophical services for the unity of the Muslims of Sub-Continent as well as worldwide.

Mr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Service Centre extended his vote of thanks to the participants and briefed the future plan of activities to be held at the centre. Dr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio, Mr. Kamal Hussain, Mr. Kaleemullah Shaikh, Ms. Shumaila Rabab Rizvi, Ms. Taj Bibi and large number of students attended the seminar.

Annual Examinations-2021 will commence from November 22, 2022 

Khairpur, November 08, 2022 (PPI-OT):Mr. Muhammad Hassan Halepoto, Controller of Examinations, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur has announced that Annual Examinations 2021 of A.D (Sciences, Arts and Commerce, Home Economics) and M.A (Previous and Final) Regular and External will commence from November 22, 2022 at all affiliated degree Colleges of Sukkur and Larkana regions. The timetable of Examinations has been sent to the colleges. The candidates are advised to visit their colleges for timetable and appear in examinations as per timetable.

The vice chancellor receives the flood relief material 

Khairpur, October 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur received second consignment of flood relief material from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Islamabad donated by Federal Minister for Education Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto commended the good will gesture and humanitarian support extended by Federal Minister for Education and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Ali Mullah, Secretary IBCC, Islamabad. Dr. Ibupoto said we are highly committed to redress the grievances of the flood affected people through Flood Relief Committee (FRC) of the University which is working day and night.

He said this region has been adversely affected by rain flood as result people are facing miserable conditions. The material will be distributed judiciously to the flood affected areas accordingly. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Convener FRC, Prof. Dr. Farman Ali Mangi, Mr. Ali Raza Lashari, Members FRC and Mr. Zohaib Memon, Secretary to Vice Chancellor were present.

Khairpur, October 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Veterinary University, Lahore and Livestock Department, Govt. of Sindh, Khairpur will establish Livestock Flood Relief Camps at various villages of Khairpur and Kotdiji Talukas from Tuesday October 04, 2022 to Saturday October 08, 2022. On the directives of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Veterinary University, Lahore, Livestock Camps will be established in order to provide vaccination and medicines to animals on October 04, at Village Jiskani, October 05 at Village Haji Laik Rajpar, October 06 at Village Gul Muhammad Jamro, October 07 at Village Arab Solangi and on October 08 at Village Kashmir Katohar.

The Livestock Owners are informed to get the vaccinations and medicines for their animals at the above villages as per schedule. The Coordination Team of Veterinary University, Lahore will be led by Prof. Dr. Aijaz Ali Channa as Team Leader Flood Relied Committee Veterinary University, Lahore, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences as Convener Flood Relief Committee, SALU, Khairpur, Mr. Ali Raza Lashari, Secretary and Dr. Gul Bahar Narejo, Deputy Director Livestock Department Govt. of Sindh as Coordinators.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that in the wake of heavily devastated areas of Khairpur, the Livestock losses occurred so we have taken possible strategies to cover Livestock population and guidelines of relief services in the above areas in collaboration with Veterinary University, Lahore and Livestock Department, Govt. of Sindh, Khairpur. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the generous support extended by Prof. Dr. Naseem Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Veterinary University, Lahore for providing treatment and medicines to the Livestock which is value added asset of the farmers and poor people.
