BS Management and Entrepreneurship – Pitch Competition 

Karachi, August 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Our BS Management and Entrepreneurship students recently competed against each other in a business competition. This was the final project for their Entrepreneurship course where they pitched their business ideas to a panel of judges, which included Sayyed Ahmad Masud (Regional Director- Founders Institute/ CEO Change Mechanics), Shehryar Hydri (Partner Deosai Ventures), and Mubashar Hameed (Rector and CEO KSBL).

The course was taught by Dr. Faryal Razzak (Director, Centre for Ethical Research, KSBL) who also arranged and managed the Business Plan Competition. The judges commended students’ efforts in formulating a business plan and putting their learnings from the past year into meaningful use. Such experiential learning activities are a core part of the Undergraduate programs at KSBL where students are encouraged to think independently and out of the box. This gives them the necessary space to build perspectives on the importance of sustainability, technology, and ethical leadership behaviour.

Sustainability

Karachi, July 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Parton of Sustainability at KSBL, Aijaz Haq, hosted a closing ceremony to mark the conclusion of faculty workshop series initiated in Fall 2021. Sustainability Advisor to KSBL, Maleeha Habib was the trainer at these workshops aimed at enhancing knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals and its impacts in the country. The series of eight sessions was designed to create awareness, help internalize the essence of sustainability, take interest and ownership for integrating relevant sustainability concepts into their business management and leadership courses.

KSBL x CFO Conference

Karachi, June 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):KSBL is proud to have partnered with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) for their flagship CFO Conference 2022 – Embracing the role as Chief Value Officer held in Karachi and Lahore on the 17th and 19th May 2022. The Conference allowed business and finance leaders to share their knowledge, expertise, and engage in discussions pertaining to the current economic challenges.

KSBL as Knowledge Partner to ICAP, played a pivotal role in identifying the theme and agenda for the conference. During the conference, KSBL presented the findings of its newly launched CFO Survey. The survey checks the pulse of the finance leaders on the macro and micro trends of Pakistani economy.

WEF Annual Meeting 2022

Karachi, June 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):At KSBL, we bring together people of ideas and agents of innovation to develop responsible leaders who transform business and society. Considering this, KSBL held the digital screening of World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting at Davos 2022. The event hosted corporate leaders from DH Corp, Engro Corporation, and Reon Energy to attend sessions at KSBL campus. With a purpose to democratize access to information, KSBL invited students, faculty, and alumni from KSBL as well as other leading business schools to attend the sessions. The theme of this year’s meeting was history at the turning point.

KSBL Signs MoU with IUCPSS 

Karachi, May 18, 2022 (PPI-OT):KSBL recently signed an MOU with IUCPSS (Inter University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences) which is a consortium of more than 60 universities in Pakistan to promote social sciences, arts, and humanities. CEO and Rector, KSBL Mr. Mubashar Hameed, and National Coordinator IUCPSS, Dr. Murtaza Noor signed the MOU. Under this partnership, both institutions will facilitate each other regarding faculty, student, and curriculum development. Under this partnership, KSBL will also provide an Ethical Leadership Framework for developing and training faculty and students as well as developing ethical curriculum and modules for different disciplines through its dedicated Center for Excellence.

Through this partnership, KSBL will also provide a state-of-the-art human development ecosystem ‘Colaraz’ connecting, students, faculty, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders for the universities subscribing to its network. This will also serve as a joint outreach platform for faculty and student societies networking and exchange.

KSBL prides itself on its core values based on ethics, sustainability, global mindedness, tech savviness, and entrepreneurship. This partnership comes with the intent of creating opportunities for faculty and students to develop while enhancing their principles in ethical behaviour and facilitating building bridges with institutions. Dr. Faryal Razzaq Director Ethical Leadership Framework, and focal person for KSBL presented the introduction and objectives of the MoU. Also present at the occasion were senior faculty and management from KSBL.

An insightful session on #BreakingtheBias with Hira Ali – Author of #HerWayToTheTop #HerAllies by KSBL 

Karachi, March 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):KSBL recently invited Hira Ali (Author, Coach, and Internationally acclaimed Women Development Activist) for a discourse around gender and diversity titled #BreakTheBias. At the event, Zubina Sadick (Head of Executive Education, KSBL) shared how it’s important to create awareness in the youth through sessions and group discussions, and activities that instill empathy.

Drawing from her research authoring books on the subject, Hira gave tips to the audience, especially men on how they can make small mindset changes in their everyday life to contribute to the agenda of gender equality and diversity. She also advised women to overcome imposter syndrome and be confident about their competencies and shared the importance of having ‘allies’ acting as advocates on the subject.

The session was attended by professionals and students from all backgrounds. Also, present at the event to support the topic was Zafar Aziz Osmani, CEO of Excelerate. The event concluded with an interactive Q and A round and networking. This was the first in a series of events planned to support International Women’s Day 2022.
