International Women’s Day 2023

Karachi, March 17, 2023 (PPI-OT): KSBL conducted a panel discussion to celebrate International Women’s Day with students and staff in attendance. The panellists included Aneeqa Kayani (Head of Premier Proposition, Bank Alfalah), Maliha Zia (Advocate, High Court), and Dr. Ahmad Junaid (Dean, KSBL), and was moderated by Sana J. (Director Marketing and Communications, KSBL). The discourse took many interesting turns touching upon the various aspects of equity, women’s rights, their roles, instilling empathy, and the responsibility of the community. The importance of creating opportunities that encourage women to pursue careers in science and technology was also discussed.

Having a workforce of almost 40% women, KSBL steers women forward in all roles. On the occasion, Mr. Mubashar Hameed (Rector and CEO, KSBL) shared how the movement has come a long way and how it is important to create awareness in our circle of influence. He commended the impact empowered women create on communities, societies, and the generations to come.

KSBL – IPRI Roundtable on External Imbalances of Pakistan: Causes, Consequences and Cures 

Karachi, August 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):KSBL in collaboration with IPRI (Islamabad Policy Research Institute) recently hosted a Roundtable under the banner of Economic Security. This roundtable was organized to discuss the external imbalances of Pakistan’s economy and its gravity and impact on the people, and the factors responsible for the trade deficit. Specifically, causes that are responsible for this imbalance were analyzed, including market distortions, lack of competitiveness in key sectors due to weak institutions and regulations, lack of adequate infrastructure development, and rising interest rates, etc.

The renowned economists, academics, entrepreneurs, businessmen, and policymakers in attendance brought forth their constructive recommendations for a better future for Pakistan. The speakers expressed their deep concern over the effects of inflation and the economic security crisis Pakistan has been facing over the past few months.

KSBL Executive Education anchor a Leadership Development Program 

Karachi, August 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):KSBL Executive Education conducted a Leadership Development Program – “Lead from The Front” for Fatima Fertilizer on June 6, 2022. This intensive 05-day program focused on developing skills in some of the most in-demand market skills and creating the future cohort of leaders and decision-makers for the company.

The program was led by Dr. Nadeem Javaid and supported by stalwarts like Dr. Athar Siddiqui and Dr. Shazib Sheikh to provide an all-around experience of immersive learning and development. Highlights from day 01, where participants are analyzing their company, as well as their competitors’ financial data besides leveraging concepts like Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Block Chain etc.

MS Excel Workshop for Students and Staff

Karachi, August 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):MS Excel data analysis is a key skill that may help any young graduate as they enter the job landscape. Sibtain Mujahid (Client Partner, Executive Education, KSBL) recently conducted a workshop on ‘Data Analysis through Microsoft Excel’ for interested KSBL students and staff. Sibtain trained the audience on collecting basic data, analyzing data through pivot tables, and creating dashboards. He also gave hands-on training on some advanced applications of the software. The session was very well received by staff and students alike in a fun and learning atmosphere.

MBA Panel Discussion: The Dynamics of Sales and Trade Marketing

Karachi, August 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):At KSBL, we bring in the perspectives of industry practitioners on business practices that are discussed in our classrooms. A panel discussion was recently arranged for our MBA students on ‘The Dynamics of Sales and Trade Marketing’.

The panellists included Yasir Iqbal (Head of Key Accounts and International Business, Tapal Tea (Pvt.) Ltd.), Atif Murtaza (Consultant and Lecturer, Institute of Business Administration), and Marium Arif Jafri (Senior Trade Marketing Manager, Reckitt). The session was moderated by Marium Khan (Assistant Brand Manager, Unilever).

The discussion revolved around in-demand sales and trade marketing skills and industry practices in the consumer goods sector. The interactive discussion also touched on customer buying behaviour, the evolving job market, and the impact of e-commerce on the overall business.
