The first International Conference on Azmat Khawateen organized by the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur, November 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Faculty of Education Islamia University Bahawalpur organized the first International Azmat Women’s Conference at Baghdad Al-Jadeed Campus. The conference was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob. Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Professor Dr. Sophia Farrukh was the guest of honour on this occasion.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that eminent researchers, academicians, decision-making public representatives and scholars have gathered at one place on this important topic. Islamia University Bahawalpur being a higher education institution is providing a platform for practical discussion and sustainable solutions on various social issues and problems. The main objective of this conference is to highlight and promote women’s greatness, professionalism and dedication to their families.

Islam advocates the greatness of women and in this regard the teachings and life of the Holy Prophet Tayyaba is a beacon for us. The efforts of Professor Dr. Irshad Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Education and other faculty members in organizing the conference are appreciable.

Professor Dr. Irshad Hussain Dean Faculty of Education said in his address that Islamia University Bahawalpur has emerged as a prominent institution for social development under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob. Seminar on “Fundamental Principles and Practices of Islamic Banks” was held at GM Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus 

Bahawalpur, November 25, 2022 (PPI-OT):Organized by the Department of Islamic Studies, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, a seminar titled “Basic Principles and Practices of Islamic Banks” was organized at Ghotvi Hall, Abbasia Campus. It was presided over by Professor Dr. Sheikh Shafiqur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Learning, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Representatives of State Bank of Pakistan and NRSP also participated in this event.

The Chairman of the Department of Islamic Studies, Dr. Muhammad Imran thanked the distinguished guests and said that the teachers and students of his department welcomed Mufti Sheikh Nauman, Senior Sharia Scholar.

IUB organized the 2nd International Conference on Research in Special Education 

Bahawalpur, November 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):Department of Special Education, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized 2nd international conference on research in special education at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus. The conference was inaugurated by Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, and the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

In his address Vice-Chancellor said that the Department of Special Education has shown remarkable performance in a short period of time and soon MPhil and PhD programs will be started in this department. He said that a center of assistance will be established in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur where teachers related to special education will be trained. The guest of honour Dr. Zeeshan Akhtar, Raheel Ahmed Bhatti and Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed University Management and Technology expressed their support and cooperation for the Department of Special Education on behalf of their institutions.

Chairperson Department of Special Education Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akhtar said that the second international conference has been organized under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. New laboratories and other facilities are being provided in the department soon so that teaching and research can be carried out efficiently. A MoU was signed with the University of Cambridge UK for cooperation and collaboration in the field of archaeology 

Bahawalpur, November 24, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and University of Cambridge UK for cooperation and collaboration in the field of archaeology. In the signing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences, Dr. Samar Fahad Director Enabling Center member syndicate, Dr. Khalil Ahmed, Athar Lashari and Ashraf Khosa and Dr. Rebecca, Project Director from University of Cambridge UK.

Under the agreement, the two institutes will collaborate to preserve archeology and local heritage in South Asia and prepare digital maps. For this purpose, faculty members Muhammad Moazzam Khan Durrani and Muhammad Waqar Mushtaq will soon leave for Cambridge University.

Under the special patronage and supervision of Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is working on a major project to discover the remains of the 7,000-year-old Hakra Civilization in the Bahawalpur Desert of Cholistan. For this purpose, the Department of Archeology is collaborating with the Cambridge University, United Kingdom.

Some time ago, a team from Cambridge University visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, and a plan was drawn up to explore the ruins of an ancient industrial city buried in Cholistan. The success of this project is expected to provide important information about the thousands of years old historical and cultural heritage of the Indian subcontinent, especially Bahawalpur.

Two-day International Conference on Interdisciplinary Approaches in Social Sciences 2022 has been started 

Bahawalpur, November 23, 2022 (PPI-OT):Organized by the Department of Applied Psychology, Islamia University Bahawalpur, the second international conference on the interrelationship of social sciences and applied psychology has started in Baghdad Dal-Jadeed Campus.

The theme of this year’s conference is Mental Health for All, Social Goals, Challenges and Sustainable Solutions. More than 100 delegates from different educational institutions and universities of Malaysia, United Kingdom, Philippines and Pakistan are participating in the conference.

While inaugurating the conference, Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob said that due to the increase in problems related to psychology at the global level, the process of moving towards their scientific solution has accelerated. Universities play a key role in solving the psychological problems faced by today’s generation.

In these circumstances, organizing an international conference by the Department of Applied Psychology, Islamia University, Bahawalpur, and bringing domestic and foreign delegates together on one platform is a good initiative. Teaching, research and conducting conferences and seminars on topics related to applied psychology in Islamia University Bahawalpur main campus and Rahim Yar Khan Campus is a welcome process.

Practical support from University-based Enabling Center and Department of Psychiatry, Bahawal Victoria Hospital Bahawalpur and Sheikh Zayed Hospital Rahim Yar Khan is appreciated. Professor Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, said that more than 34 domestic and foreign experts will deliver keynote speeches on multifaceted topics related to psychology.

The recommendations of this conference, which will continue till Dodan, will be conveyed to the policy makers and decision-making bodies so that recommendations can be made for creating a peaceful and prosperous society. Conference Chair Professor Dr Muhammad Saleem said that the Department of Applied Psychology is working on various projects along with teaching and high quality research.

This conference organized in collaboration with Punjab Higher Education Commission, Psychology It will prove to be a knowledge milestone for teachers and students on the subject. Papers will be presented in the conference on mental health, media psychology, impact of corona crisis, educational psychology and impact on parental psychology.

Foreign delegates participating in the conference, Prof. Dr. Christopher Lewis, UK, Prof. Dr. Joselito Binano, Philippines, Prof. Dr. Rozni bin Ismail, Malaysia, Dr. Khan Muhammad Raziuddin Tawfeeq, UK, delivered keynote speeches on important topics. On the first day, 10 parallel scientific sessions and poster presentation sessions were held.

His topics include mental health of students and youth, family relationships and professional responsibilities, digital world, mental health and society, adverse effects, violence and exploitation of disadvantaged groups, education in mental health of students.
