Karachi, April 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):IoBM’s students Hafsa Mudassar, Aleena Gul and Haya Amir, and Moiz Hassan Butt were selected in various capacities in the HEC and Sindh Netball Teams for Women and Men. Hafsa Mudassar and Aleena Gul were selected for the HEC Women Netball Camp held in Lahore. They represented the HEC Women Netball Team participating at the “21st National Netball Championship 2022” (Men and Women) held at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. Hafsa was nominated as the ‘Captain’ to represent the HEC Women Netball Team at the Netball Championship.

It was an honour for her to represent IoBM as well as HEC at the Championship. With their consistent efforts, HEC snatched 2nd Position at the 21st National Netball Championship 2022 (Men and Women) at Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad in an enthusiastic match against WAPDA. Hamna Mudassar and Haya Amir were selected by the Pakistan Netball Federation to represent Sindh.

They also secured 1st Position in the Inter-Provincial Netball Championship 2022 for Women. Further, Hamna also got the ‘Best GA of the Tournament’ Award. Moreover, Moiz Hassan Butt was selected to be a part of the Sindh Men Netball Team. IoBM is proud of its students being selected/representing to be a part of the HEC and Sindh Netball Team.

Karachi, April 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):There has been rampant growth of e-commerce and digital businesses in Pakistan. This has helped open up the region to new market opportunities over time. The world has grown and become a global market, in which people from different continents can order and get items effortlessly within a month or two. Even though shipping may take a while, items are still exchanged in different regions.

The future is also digital, and the faster people embrace it, the better. This is because people are now working remotely, exchanging goods overseas, importing goods, exporting goods, conducting remote meetings, and much more. Businesses like online stores, print on demand, auctioning goods, and drop-shipping are now done at people’s comfort.

Karachi, April 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):A field trip was planned to Mapak Edible Oils Solvent plant (Pvt.) Limited by the Department of Industrial Environment and Energy Management, IoBM on March 29, 2022. As many as 25 students of the Industrial Management Department, a senior faculty member, Dr. Irshad Khan, Dr. Falak Shad Memon, and Ms. Syeda Faiza participated in the visit.

MAPAK EDIBLE OILS Pvt. Ltd. (MEO) was established under a joint venture agreement between WESTBURY Group, Pakistan, FGV, Malaysia, and K. L. Kepong, Malaysia. MEO is established over an area of 12 acres and started its operations in April 2006. We have 1200 MT Physical and 400 MT chemical refining plants. They are serving the local Edible Oil industry by supplying the best quality and fresh RBD Palm Oil, RBD Canola/ Soybean Oil, and Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD) to the Soap industry.

Karachi, April 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi held its first-ever Open House in Hyderabad on March 30, 2022. It was arranged by the Marketing and Communications (MARCOM) Department, IoBM. Students from the Intermediate and O/A-level tracks attended the event.

The objective was to provide career counselling and guidance to these students. IoBM’s faculty introduced the various undergraduate degree programs offered in business management and allied disciplines, shared their learning outcomes and career path. IoBM’s Open House provided the students of Hyderabad with an opportunity to learn about various undergraduate programs offered at IoBM such as BBA, Entrepreneurship, Data Science, Software Engineering, Media Studies, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Psychology, Education, Accounting and Finance among others.

Karachi, April 04, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management organized an Educational Field Trip to DP World for the class Essentials of Supply Chain Management on 30th March 2022. This industrial visit was organized by Faculty Member Sajid Nazir – CISCOM, CSCA, MCIPS, and SCM Assistant Officer Mr. Basit Chawla, with prior permission from Hon. HoD SCM, Dr. Muhammad Junaid, with guidance from Hon. Dean CBM Professor Dr. Shujaat Mubarik. The purpose of this industrial visit was to help students provide a better understanding of the information concerned with the industrial functions. It provided students a better opportunity to plan, organize, control, lead, and involve internal and external environments outside the classrooms.
