Turkiye and Syria Earthquake Appeal 

Lahore, February 15, 2023 (PPI-OT):On Monday morning of 6th February two massive earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.6 hit south-eastern Turkiye, near the Syrian border, taking lives of thousands of people and bulldozing millions of residential buildings. The aftershocks and repercussions of deadly earthquake are still there as the death toll rises to 41,200 many people became homeless and waiting under open sky in freezing cold weather for help. Rescue teams are busy in unearthing people under the heaps of rubble.

Right now, the main needs are emergency shelters, hot meals and basic relief. There have been more than 100 aftershocks. People have left homes. They are fearful of staying inside, or perhaps fearful of another major earthquake. In these tough times Pakistan is standing with Turkiye and Syria by providing aid through various ways. Amongst them is Pakistan’s Leading non-profit organization Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan. Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is one of the leading, non-profit organization, fully dedicated to humanitarian services since 1990. Alkhidmat volunteers are doing great job on all forefronts in aiding earthquake victims of Turkiye and Syria.

Turkey and Syria earthquake relief funds

Lahore, February 15, 2023 (PPI-OT):The morning of 6th February was challenging for the Turkish and Syrian people. They slept with the dreams of continuing their routine life, while nature had different plans. In the early morning of that day, a 7.8 magnitude quake shook South-eastern Turkey, Syria and nearby countries.

It was so massive. Small apartments and the grand buildings moved back and forth like a lightweight pendulum. Quake jolts even break the roads. Since this happened in the early morning, very few were awake, whereas most were sleeping. They did not even get a chance to escape the disaster.

Turkish and Syrian people were helplessly crying. The hue and cry over the loss of family, friends and properties could be heard in nearby lands.

6th February was a dark day. Meanwhile, the rescue, another jolt of 7.5 magnitudes, left people in destruction, pain, crying. It transformed the Adana and Gaziantep into big hills of worthless rubble. Numerous poor Turkish and Syrian people got stuck in it for hours, crying for aid.

Turkey and Syria earthquake death toll 2023:

Aljazeera reports the death toll is more than 35800 are Turkish deaths, whereas 5400 are Syrians. Causalities are not stopping here as rescuers are removing the rumble; they find a newly dead body.

Press conference of Al-Khidmat Foundation officials regarding the situation caused by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and Al-Khidmat Foundation’s relief activities 

Lahore, February 14, 2023 (PPI-OT):A press conference was organized in Lahore Press Club regarding the situation after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and the relief activities of Al-Khidmat Foundation. In which Secretary General of Al Khidmat Foundation Syed Waqas Jafri and Managing Director of Al Khidmat Global Shahid Iqbal participated. Syed Waqas Jafari while addressing the press conference said that Al-Khidmat has given loans to speed up relief activities. Faraz Bhi” campaign has been launched. Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan has started relief activities with 50 crore rupees to help the earthquake victims and suffering brothers and sisters of Turkey and Syria.

In which 6,200 tents, 25,000 blankets, 10,000 tarpaulin sheets and 300 tons of food and drinks are being sent to Turkey and Syria. Immediately after the Al-Khidmat earthquake, with the help of partner organizations in Turkey and Syria, cooked meals, food packages, warm clothes, Provision of tents, beds and blankets Syed Waqas Jafari said that Vice President of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan Muhammad Abdul Shakuramdadi is on a visit to Turkey and Syria to monitor the activities. A delegation of Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan met the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey, Amir Ozbey, in Lahore and conveyed the sentiments of the people of Pakistan along with helping their suffering brothers and sisters. Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Donates Aid Worth 50 Crore Rupees to victims of Turkey-Syria Earthquake 

Lahore, February 14, 2023 (PPI-OT):The supporting role of Alkhidmat Foundation in the calamitous situation brought about by the 7.7 Richter scale earthquake in Turkey and Syria was the agenda of the conference organized at Lahore Press Club, wherein Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation, Syed Waqas Jafri and Managing Director Alkhidmat Global, Shahid Iqbal had warmly participated.

In his address Syed Waqas Jafri emphasized on the critical implementation of efforts to support the nations and the “Qarz bhi, Farz bhi” campaign which has been launched as both a humane and moral obligation in order to expedite the same philanthropic efforts. Alkhidmat Foundation has announced to mobilize over Rs. 500 million in donations and supplies to the earthquake survivors of the region, including 6200 tents, 10000 tarpaulins, 25000 blankets and 3 tons of food supplies.

With the help of its partner organizations, Alkhidmat has readily contributed cooked meals, food packages, warm clothes, tents, blankets and sleeping bags immediately since the disaster struck. “Besides food and shelter, the hard-hit areas are in urgent need of a large-scale medical relief operation,” Shoaib Hashmi, Senior Manager Media Relations stated. “Alkhidmat Foundation has recruited Turk-national Pakistani doctors initially for medical camps established in Syria and Turkey. Another seven-membered health team is also being deployed to Turkey which comprises of an orthopaedic surgeon, a general surgeon, an anaesthesiologist among others along with medical equipment and supplies to continue the operation in the area of catastrophe. “Secretary Gen. Alkhidmat on ground in Turkiye and Syria 

Lahore, February 07, 2023 (PPI-OT):Alkhidmat Foundation launched emergency response after the devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria. Alkhidmat Foundation in collaboration with Turkish partner organizations is responding on the ground in quake-hit areas of Turkiye and Syria by distributing hot meals, blankets, mattresses and shelter tents to the victims.

Immediately after a devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria, an emergency meeting of the Central Board of Management of Alkhidmat Foundation was held at Alkhidmat Complex, Lahore presided by President Alkhidmat Prof. Dr. Hafeez ur Rahman.

The Central Board of Management of Alkhidmat expressed deepest sadness at the loss of life and the destruction of property. The team expressed its condolences to the families of victims as well as to the people and Government, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. President Alkhidmat Prof. Dr. Hafeez Ur Rahman expressed his solidarity and announced all along support to the suffering brothers and sisters in Turkiye and Syria.

In a statement, President Alkhidmat Prof. Dr. Hafeez Ur Rehman said that Turkiye and Syria are our Islamic brother countries. Whenever there was an emergency in Pakistan, the brothers and sisters from Turkiye generously helped us, now it is our duty to support them in this hour of difficulty.

The Flood of 2022

One of the most disturbing things that happened in this country after the Covid 19 were the floods of 2022. These floods have taken the lives of more than 1,900 people, one-third of whom were children, devastated millions of homes and key infrastructure, submerged entire villages and destroyed livestock.

The moon soon raining in 2022 in Pakistan was 3 times higher than in the previous 30 years it was the month of august when a massive moon soon raining, and floods hit Pakistan affecting almost 15% of the country’s population. ‘According to UNICEF REPORT, nearly 27,000 schools, 1,500 public health institutions were among the critical infrastructure that children so heavily rely on that has been destroyed or damaged’.

Al-Khidmat’s Arrival

Al-Khidmat’s entry begins with rescuing the people and ensuring their safety. Perhaps you have seen photographs/videos of Al-Khidmat’s volunteers assisting people to migrate to safe places. From there Alkhidmat start the relief operations for the victims

Al-Khidmat’s Tameer e Watan program;

Al-Khidmat teams went to affected areas to survey damaged houses, mosques, schools, and crops. In order to properly accommodate them Alkhidmat began the rehabilitation of flood victims. Following a proper strategic planning Alkhidmat maintains these relief operations in a highly organized manner. These reliefs include the provision of birth kits, food packages, rescue, seed supplies, shelters, medical aids, clean water, fertilizers, and other services.

The most unique and important initiative Al-Khidmat’s started was the Provision tents and the making of tent cities, assistance in the reconstruction of damaged homes for flood victims, restoration of mosques, and restoration of schools. This initiative is known as Al-Khidmat’s Tameer e Watan program According to data, Alkhidmat spent approximately 15 billion on this program. Alkhidmat was then assigned5B for ATWP;
