Lahore, In a fervent speech, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haque condemned the current political system in Pakistan, accusing major parties like PML-N, PPP, and PTI of failing to bring development and prosperity to the country. Haque highlighted the struggles of the Pakistani people under the current regime, emphasizing the need for a systemic change.
According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Haque’s statements came during addresses at a workers’ convention in Haripur and a joining meeting in Swabi. He criticized the previous ruling parties for imposing inflation, unemployment, and poverty on the nation. Haque accused the rulers of indulging themselves while telling the people to be patient, describing the luxury they enjoy as being fuelled by the blood and sweat of the poor. He emphasized the importance of struggle against oppression and injustice, stating that rights cannot be obtained by bowing down or fearing oppressors.
Haque also commented on the state of governance in Pakistan, which he likened to a system of Brahmins and Shudras, calling for an end to class division. He announced that on February 8, the politics of hypocrisy will be buried, with only the scales of Jamaat-e-Islami bringing real change.
Further, Haque criticized the inability of institutions and courts to hold corrupt rulers accountable and appealed to the people to exercise their right to vote as a means of accountability. He urged participants to become ambassadors of Jamaat-e-Islami and support the implementation of an Islamic system in Pakistan. Highlighting the nation’s resource distribution and corruption issues, Haque asserted that Jamaat-e-Islami, as a competent and honest leadership, could bring much-needed reforms.
In his speech, Haque also condemned the administration for not allowing Jamaat-e-Islami to hold a meeting in an open place, labeling it a violation of democratic rights and the constitution. He called for clean and transparent elections, stating that only a government with the people’s support can bring stability. Haque also accused the major political parties of remaining silent on international issues due to fear of America, pledging that Jamaat-e-Islami would create a Pakistan capable of facing global challenges and being the true spokesperson of the Ummah.
