Siraj-ul-Haq of Jamaat-e-Islami Pledges Justice and Rights for Balochistan

LAHORE, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj-ul-Haq, has expressed a strong commitment to addressing the grievances of Balochistan, attributing the region’s hardships to corrupt leadership in Islamabad and Quetta. He vowed to establish a system of justice that would grant the people of Balochistan their rightful entitlements.

According to Jamaat-E-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, while addressing an election rally in Dera Allah Yar Jafarabad, criticized the existing political leaders and sardars for neglecting Balochistan. He highlighted the region’s plight, citing the absence of essential services like hospitals and schools, and the rampant corruption plaguing development projects. He stressed that emancipation from such corrupt leadership was crucial for Balochistan’s progress.

Siraj-ul-Haq also dismissed the ongoing rivalry between PML-N and the People’s Party as a façade, likening it to past feuds. He emphasized Jamaat-e-Islami’s role in public service, noting the party’s efforts in assisting flood-affected people in Balochistan. This included building houses, installing clean water plants, establishing schools, and facilitating higher education for Baloch youth.

The Amir pointed out the stark disparity in resource allocation in Balochistan, with residents lacking basic necessities such as water, electricity, and access to healthcare. He called for competent and honest leadership to represent Balochistan effectively in the Houses of Parliament.

Siraj-ul-Haq condemned the ruling elites for their self-centeredness and accused them of plundering the country, including Balochistan, for decades. He criticized their lavish lifestyles and the misappropriation of public funds, asserting that such leaders could not eradicate corruption or uphold the rights of the people.

The Jamaat-e-Islami leader also critiqued the previous government’s silence on international issues like Palestine and their reliance on IMF loans, which he claimed were exploited by the ruling class at the expense of the public. He urged the people to use their vote on February 8 to end such tyrannical rule, emphasizing that a victory for Jamaat-e-Islami would be a triumph for the ordinary citizens of Pakistan.

Siraj-ul-Haq reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s commitment to establishing equality, justice, rule of law, and true accountability through the implementation of an Islamic system. He called for an end to the threats against Jamaat-e-Islami candidates in Balochistan, declaring the party’s fearlessness and readiness to confront any wrongdoers.
