Sindh University Jamshoro Announces Exam Schedule and Winter Vacation Dates

Jamshoro, Sindh University Jamshoro has announced the schedule for its second semester exams for Bachelor and Master programs, set to commence from December 6, 2023. The university has also outlined its winter vacation period and deadlines for exam result submissions.

According to Sindh University Jamshoro, the decision was made in a meeting chaired by Sheikh Al Jamia Sindh, Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro. The meeting, attended by pro-vice chancellors from various campuses, deans of faculties, and heads of teaching and administrative departments, was held in the Senate Hall of the Vice Chancellor Secretariat. It was unanimously decided that the second semester exams would run from December 6 to December 22, 2023. The winter vacation was scheduled from December 26, 2023, to January 5, 2024, with the university reopening on January 8, 2024, due to the weekend.

The meeting also addressed the submission of exam results, stipulating that teachers should submit results by January 31, 2024. Those who meet this deadline will receive their remuneration in February, subject to fund availability. Teachers submitting results after January 31 and by February 28 will receive half compensation, payable after July 1, 2024. This proposal was approved by the meeting attendees.

Additionally, Dr. Kamran Taj Pathan, the Focal Person of the Laptop Scheme at the University of Sindh, briefed the meeting about the distribution of laptops to students, noting that a revised list would soon be released for the distribution of remaining laptops on merit. Registrar Dr. Mushtaq Ali Jarico discussed the Rs.26 crore scholarship awarded to students so far and mentioned the upcoming distribution of Rs.2 million among students from flood-affected districts in 2022.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro also addressed the meeting, highlighting the university’s decision to waive admission, examination, and hostel fees for all Palestinian students in light of the financial and life challenges caused by the situation in Palestine. He urged faculty to provide special assistance to these students in paper checking and preparation, and directed deans, chairpersons, and directors to offer special classes and full cooperation to Palestinian students.
