KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPP-P) Central Spokesperson Shazia Marri inaugurated the Women Craft and Training Centre in Shah Faisal Colony, Karachi, asserting the party's dedication to granting Gilgit-Baltistan constitutional provincial status. She highlighted the PPP's focus on people-centric politics, emphasizing that elections are won through public trust rather than slogans or social media.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Shazia Marri stated that Gilgit-Baltistan was given political identity by former President Asif Ali Zardari and that the region reaffirmed its confidence in the PPP during recent elections. She noted the party's aspiration to form the government in alignment with its public mandate, underlining the electorate's support for the party's "Right of Sovereignty, Right of Ownership, and Right of Employment" narrative presented by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Marri acknowledged challenges faced during the electoral process but stressed the importance of respecting the people's mandate. She also addressed the region's issues, such as inadequate internet connectivity and healthcare, which require immediate action.
Regarding the Women Craft and Training Centre, Marri explained its historical significance and its role in providing income through handicrafts and skill development. She highlighted the Sindh government's support and the center's mission to economically empower women by equipping them with vocational skills, enabling their products to reach markets nationwide.
