Islamabad: Pakistan’s Saleema Imtiaz is poised to make her One Day International (ODI) umpiring debut in the upcoming three-match women’s series between Pakistan and South Africa, scheduled for Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from September 16th to 22nd. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently announced the match officials for the series.
Imtiaz, a member of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) International Panel of Umpires, will share on-field duties with Australia’s Claire Polosak, who previously officiated in Pakistan during the women’s series against the West Indies last year in Karachi. Polosak, also on the ICC International Panel of Umpires, is slated to officiate in all three ODIs.
Humairah Farah has been appointed as the reserve umpire, while Tariq Rasheed, from the PCB Elite Panel of Umpires, will also serve as an on-field umpire. Former Test cricketer Ali Naqvi, a member of both the PCB and ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will head the playing control team.
The first ODI on September 16th will see Polosak and Imtiaz as on-field umpires, with Rasheed as third umpire and Farah as reserve umpire. For the second ODI on September 19th, Polosak and Rasheed will take on-field responsibilities, while Imtiaz will serve as third umpire. The officiating panel for the final ODI on September 22nd mirrors that of the first match, with Polosak and Imtiaz on-field, Rasheed as third umpire, and Farah as the reserve official. Naqvi will act as match referee for all three fixtures.
