Punjab University Seminar Illuminates Pakistan’s Political and Constitutional History

Lahore, In honor of Pakistan Day, Punjab University’s Pakistan Study Centre (PSC) hosted a national seminar that brought together scholars and students to delve into the country’s eco-cultural and political history. The event featured prominent figures from the academic sphere, including Dr. Saad S. Khan from the Eco-Cultural Institute Tehran, Iran, and Dr. Sajid Mehmood Awan, Director of the National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research in Islamabad.

According to University of The Punjab, the seminar was a platform for experts to share their insights on significant historical figures and the constitutional evolution of Pakistan. Dr. Saad S. Khan provided an in-depth look into the political endeavors of Begum Jinnah, exploring her life, family, marriage to Quaid-i-Azam, and her contributions to anti-colonialism and political activism. Dr. Sajid Awan focused on the persistent political and constitutional challenges of Pakistan, tracing the country’s constitutional journey from its independence to the present day, and addressing the recurring issues that have shaped its political landscape.

The seminar, facilitated by PSC’s Director Prof Dr. Naumana Kiran, was not only an opportunity for remembrance but also an educational venture, allowing attendees to gain a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s rich historical tapestry. Faculty members and students were present to engage with the discussions, marking the event as a significant contribution to the ongoing celebrations of Pakistan’s national history.
