PU VC Urges Students to Challenge Established Norms at Library and Information Management Conference

Lahore, Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood emphasized the importance of challenging old work and finding alternative sources during the national conference on ‘Emerging Issues in Libraries & Information Management (EILIM)’. Organized by the Punjab University Institute of Information Management, the event gathered experts and students to discuss the evolving landscape of information management.

According to University of the Punjab, Dr. Mahmood highlighted the emphasis on research and reflection in the Holy Quran and urged the adoption of study habits that keep pace with modern technology. He stressed the necessity for students to question and deepen their subject knowledge. Prof Dr. Nosheen Fatima Waraich and Prof Dr. Abdul Hameed spoke about the significance of sharing experiences and research for educational advancement. Amy VanScoy from the University at Buffalo, New York, presented on various research aspects, highlighting the diversity and broad range of skills in the library profession. The event also featured a poster competition inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor.
