Lahore, In a significant move to foster academic collaboration and research, the Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, and the Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR), Islamabad, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on February 16, 2024. This partnership marks a strategic effort to bridge academic research and practical application in the realms of international relations and South Asian studies.
According to University of The Punjab, the MoU was signed by Dr. Naheed S. Goraya, Director of CSAS, and Ms. Amna Munawwar Awan, President of COPAIR. The agreement sets a framework for both institutions to collaborate on various academic initiatives, including joint training for researchers, workshops, and roundtable discussions on topics of mutual interest. Additionally, COPAIR committed to offering paid internships to students in the field of digital diplomacy.
Dr. Goraya emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that it aims to deepen and expand academic relations between local and international think tanks and research institutes. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance understanding of region-specific issues, particularly those related to South Asia.
