President Asif Ali Zardari Commits to Fulfilling PPP’s Election Promises in Public Gathering

Karachi, President of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) and former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, has affirmed his commitment to fulfilling the promises made in the PPP’s manifesto for the February 8 election. In a passionate address at a public gathering on the 16th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, Zardari emphasized the party’s dedication to its pledges and outlined a vision for Pakistan’s development.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, President Asif Ali Zardari, while commemorating Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, reassured the public of his unwavering commitment to the promises made by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He stated, “no one can say that Zardari made a promise, but then reneged. Alhamdulillah, I have fulfilled the promises I made.” Zardari also reflected on Pakistan’s potential, emphasizing that the country’s richness lies in its resources, not its poverty.

Addressing the crowd, Zardari criticized the leadership in Islamabad, arguing that the real problem facing the country is not in its cities like Quetta, Hyderabad, Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar, but rather in the limited thinking of those governing from the capital. He highlighted the disconnect between the leaders in Islamabad and the plight of the poor and hungry across the nation.

Zardari expressed his adherence to the legacy of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Bhutto, stating that his presidency and initiatives were driven by their vision and support from the people. He attributed his achievements and projects to the power, thinking, and votes of the people who believed in the mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

Furthermore, President Asif Ali Zardari spoke about his dedication to the PPP, considering it a trust bestowed upon him by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He called for patience and cooperation from the public and party workers, asserting that the PPP is committed to building a prosperous Pakistan for future generations. He emphasized that the legacies of Quaid-i-Awam and Shaheed Bibi are remembered due to their significant contributions to humanity and their visionary thinking.

Concluding his speech, President Zardari outlined the key areas of focus for the PPP, including water provision, grain accessibility, canal lining, dam construction, development of Tharparkar, irrigation in Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, and enhancing trade with China through Gilgit-Baltistan. He expressed confidence that these initiatives would form the core of the party’s manifesto and would be accomplished in the coming years.
