PDP Chairman Defends Pakistan’s Legal System, Criticizes Foreign Interference

Karachi, At a recent meeting of the Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Steering Committee, Chairman Altaf Shakoor strongly defended Pakistan’s legal system and criticized foreign interference in the nation’s affairs. This statement came in response to comments made by the British High Commissioner concerning Pakistan’s political and legal systems.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Shakoor’s remarks were prompted by a letter from the Supreme Court of Pakistan to the British High Commission, which was itself a reaction to comments by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott. Shakoor welcomed the Supreme Court’s letter and argued that criticisms of Pakistan’s legal system by foreign entities are unwarranted. He emphasized that other nations, including Britain, should reflect on their own historical actions before criticizing others.

Shakoor also urged the Pakistani government to adopt a firm stance against foreign interference, echoing sentiments that Pakistan, as a sovereign nation, has the right to manage its affairs as per its own constitution. He further criticized the historical actions of the British government, particularly referencing the creation of Israel and its repercussions in the Middle East.

The meeting concluded with a call for foreign diplomats to refrain from offering unsolicited advice to Pakistan, highlighting the nation’s pride and resilience during challenging times. Shakoor’s comments underline a strong nationalistic sentiment and a call for respect of Pakistan’s sovereignty from international partners.
