Pakistan’s First Lady Meets Indonesian Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Karachi: Her Excellency Ms. Asifa Bhutto Zardari, the First Lady of Pakistan, met with the Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, Mr. Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, at Bilawal House in Karachi. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in economic engagement, agriculture, and cultural exchanges.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the First Lady congratulated the Ambassador on the successful organization of the Pakistan-Indonesia Investment Forum, emphasizing the longstanding and cooperative relationship between Pakistan and Indonesia. She highlighted the historical bonds between the two nations, referencing the personal friendship between Indonesia's founding President, Dr. Ir. Sukarno, and her grandfather, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The discussion covered various areas of potential collaboration, including trade, investment, agriculture, education, and healthcare. The First Lady noted the significance of Indonesia as a major destination for Pakistan's rice exports and welcomed efforts to revive the rice cooperation framework. She also expressed interest in Indonesia's family planning and population management experiences.

The Ambassador shared his positive impressions of Sindh's potential during his recent visit and reaffirmed Indonesia's commitment to strengthening cooperation in key sectors. A commemorative publication on Pakistan-Indonesia relations was presented to the First Lady, who extended warm greetings to the Indonesian Government and people, expressing optimism for the continued growth of bilateral relations.
