Pakistan Shaheens Set for 50-Over Series Against Bangladesh ‘A’ in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board today announced the 14-member Pakistan Shaheens squad that will compete in a three-match 50-over series against Bangladesh ‘A’. The series is set to commence tomorrow at the Islamabad Club, with subsequent games on August 28 and 30.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Haris will captain the Shaheens, leading a team that retains 12 players from their recent successful tour in Darwin, Australia. This continuity is part of the selectors’ strategy to give emerging and domestic performers consistent opportunities at the international level.

The squad includes standout performers like Jahandad Khan, who took 15 wickets in the recent white-ball leg, and Usman Khan, who amassed 222 runs. New additions to the team include left-arm spinner Mehran Mumtaz and young left-hand batter Azan Awais, who recently played for Pakistan U19 at the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2024.

The series promises competitive cricket with both teams looking to showcase their skills and depth in the 50-over format. All matches are scheduled as day games, with early morning starts to capitalize on favorable weather conditions.
