Pakistan Cricket Mourns the Loss of Former Chairman Shaharyar Khan

Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the passing of its former Chairman, Shaharyar Khan, who died earlier today in Lahore at the age of 89. Khan’s tenure as Chairman spanned two distinct periods, significantly shaping the landscape of Pakistani cricket.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Shaharyar Khan’s leadership roles included his service as PCB Chairman from December 2003 to October 2006 and again from August 2014 to August 2017. Beyond his administrative contributions, Khan was remembered for his managerial role during Pakistan’s 1999 tour of India and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.

The PCB, under the current Chairmanship of Mohsin Naqvi, expressed profound sorrow over Khan’s demise, acknowledging his dedication and pivotal contributions to Pakistan cricket, particularly in revitalizing the sport within the nation over the past decade. The Board extended its deepest sympathies to Khan’s family, recognizing his legacy as an instrumental figure in Pakistan’s cricket history.
