Hyderabad, The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) hosted a seminar focusing on the “Postgraduate Program Review (PGPR)” and the introduction of “Pakistan Precept Standards and Guidelines (PSG) 2023” to elevate the standard of postgraduate education in engineering.

According to Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, the seminar was designed to provide directors and coordinators of MUET’s postgraduate programs with comprehensive insights and methodologies necessary for conducting in-depth program reviews. The event featured a notable presentation by Mr. Babar Ali Kalhoro from LUMHS Jamshoro, who elaborated on the PGPR process and emphasized its critical role in upholding and enhancing educational quality.

In addition to program review methodologies, the seminar participants were introduced to the PSG 2023, a set of guidelines aimed at standardizing and improving the quality of engineering postgraduate programs across Pakistan. This initiative is expected to significantly influence the structure and content of postgraduate education, aligning it with national quality benchmarks and ensuring that MUET’s offerings remain relevant and competitive.

The QEC’s commitment to academic excellence was underscored through its initiative to organize such seminars, demonstrating MUET’s proactive approach in adopting and implementing advanced educational standards and practices to benefit its postgraduate students and the broader academic community.

Hyderabad, Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, President of Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (JUP) and Malli Yakjhti Council, called for Muslim solidarity and action in support of the Palestinian people during a recent Iftar dinner in Latifabad, marking Bab al-Islam Day.

He criticized the passivity of Islamic nations’ leaders in the face of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over 32,000 Palestinians have reportedly been martyred in the early days of Ramadan, with millions more suffering without shelter, food, water, or medical aid.

During the Bab al-Islam Day event, Dr. Zubair emphasized the significance of Muhammad bin Qasim’s achievements in establishing justice and piety in Sindh, using this historical reference to call for urgent support for Palestine. He advocated for practical assistance rather than rhetoric, urging the Pakistani government to take a proactive stance in helping the Palestinians and to consider formal measures of support.

The ceremony was attended by various religious, political, and social figures, reflecting broad concern for the situation in Gaza. Dr. Zubair’s speech served as a rallying cry for the Muslim community to unite in support of their Palestinian brethren, echoing through the attendees and beyond.

Faisalabad, Amidst the backdrop of significant national adversity, Humayun Akhtar Khan, the Senior Vice President of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, emphasized the need for a united front reminiscent of the Tehreek-e-Pakistan spirit to navigate the country through its present trials.
