Only a quarter think high income people pay a lot of taxes: Gallup and Gilani Pakistan

Islamabad, September 21, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a survey conducted by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, half the population of Pakistan thinks that low-income people pay a large amount of tax.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country was asked the following question, “Now I will read you the names of the types of people who pay tax in this country. For each group, please indicate whether you think they pay a large amount of tax, an appropriate amount of tax, or a very low amount of tax?” In response to this 50% people said that they think low-income people pay a large amount of tax, 37% of the people said middle income pay a large amount of tax, 24% said high income people and 25% said they think corporate sector organizations pay large amounts of tax.

Question: “Now I will read you the names of the types of people who pay tax in this country. For each group, please indicate whether you think they pay a large amount of tax, an appropriate amount of tax, or a very low amount of tax?”
