Bahawalpur, December 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):A one-day seminar was organized on the topic of media management by the eighth semester students of the Department of Media and Communication Studies, Islamia University, Bahawalpur. The speakers of the seminar were former Director of Public Relations Punjab Riaz ul Haque Bhatti, Chairman of the Department of Media and Communication Studies Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan, Director of IUB Radio TV and Films Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Rana and Station Director FM 92. 6 Assistant Professor was Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain. The speakers highlighted the importance of media management nowadays and the development efforts of the media manager for the organization.
Riaz-ul-Haque Bhatti while talking about the importance of media manager said that there are four basic units of communication. By keeping in mind these four units, sender, message, source and receiver, media managers highlight the positive image of the organization. He said that a successful media manager is the one who speaks the truth and truth with the organization and upholds justice and truth in his profession.
He further said that with the passage of time, the profession of media manager has become more important because in this era of social media, where yellow journalism is common, the trend of spreading fake news has intensified.
Professor Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan said that the department of public relations is the name of art, science and knowledge in which the public relations officer can create a positive image of the institution and the people and the institution. Struggle to build a happy relationship between them. He lauded the efforts of Jamia Islamia’s public relations department for curbing fake news recently. He further said that the success of any institution is impossible without the trust of the people.
Speaking on the importance of media management in radio, print media and electronic media, Professor Dr. Muhammad Shehzad said that while media management and public relations department are important in other institutions, media management is also very important in media houses because No institution can run without a media manager and at the same time he appreciated the efforts of Assistant Professor Dr. Jam Sajjad Hussain for making the students practice and also congratulated the students for conducting an organized seminar. Speaking at the end of the seminar, Assistant Professor Dr. Jam Sajjad agreed with the views of the speakers on the importance of media management
