Faisalabad, The Society of Software Engineers (DCS, NTU) recently conducted a workshop focused on ‘Navigating the Dynamics of Software Project Management with Contract Drafting.’ The event took place on January 04, 2024, in the SE Lab at the New Academic Block of NTU.

According to National Textile University, the session was spearheaded by Mr. Muhammad Haroon, Assistant Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell. It aimed to provide attendees with insights into effective software project management strategies and the nuances of contract drafting in the realm of software development. Key topics covered included the intricacies of contract drafting, the importance of effective communication, ethical considerations in contract management, and strategies for risk management in contract drafting processes.

The workshop garnered the presence of several notable individuals. Attendees included Dr. Haseeb Ahmad (AP, DCS), Dr. Hamid Ali (AP, DCS), Dr. Salman Raza (Convener CS Society), Dr. Toqeer Mahmood (Program Director BSCS), Mr. Nasir Mahmood (Lecturer DCS), and Mr. Muhammad Naeem (Lecturer/Convener SE Society). The session provided a platform for these distinguished professionals to engage in discussions and exchange knowledge on the topic.

Turbat, The University of Turbat has scheduled the National Testing Service (NTS) entry test for various graduate programs including PhD and M.Phil for the spring 2024 semester.

According to University of Turbat, the entry test will cover programs such as PhD (Balochi), PhD (Biochemistry), M.Phil (Balochi), M.Phil (Chemistry), M.Phil (Biochemistry), MBA, MS (Business Administration), and M.Phil (English Literature). The test is set to take place at the University’s main campus in Turbat on Sunday, 14th January 2024. Candidates are required to report at the venue by 09:30 AM, and the test will follow the GAT-General pattern.

It is mandatory for all candidates to bring their entry test admission slip and original CNIC to the test. These admission slips can be obtained either from the NTS website or the Admission Cell of UoT at the main campus. Kohat, FATA University has announced a tender for the supply of electric cable needed for the electrification of various buildings at its Darra Adam Khel campus.

According to FATA University, the tender invites sealed bids from firms or suppliers that are registered with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) in the specialized category, Energy and Power Department, KP government, FBR, KPRA, and have an active taxpayer status. The detailed terms and conditions are outlined in the Tender Documents, available at the office of the Director of Works of the FATA University and can be downloaded from the University’s website at www.fu.edu.pk. Applicants are required to submit a Tender Processing Fee of Rs. 2000/- (Non-Refundable) in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) in favor of the Treasurer, FATA University.

The tender also specifies that all applicable government taxes such as Income Tax, Stamp Duty, General Sales Tax (GST), or any other taxes will be charged as per rules. The rates quoted in the bids should remain valid until 30th June 2024. Moreover, a 2% Bid Security/Earnest Money of the total bid price, refundable, must accompany the bid in the form of a CDR from the account of the firm/supplier/contractor submitting the bid.

Notably, no bid will be considered without the tender processing fee. The bids are to be received by the office of the undersigned by Tuesday, January 23, 2024, before 11:00 A.M and will be opened the same day at 11:30 A.M in the Committee Room of FATA University. Bidders or their authorized representatives are welcome to attend the opening. The University emphasizes that bids must be submitted through registered courier or postal services; hand-delivered or late submissions will not be accepted.

FATA University reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids as per the KPPRA Rules 2014. The quantity of the items required may be subject to increase or decrease, and any errors or omissions in the tender documents are subject to rectification by the University.

Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore welcomed the visit of Dr. Ajaz Rashid, a renowned veterinarian from East Windsor Animal Hospital in the USA. Dr. Rashid met with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad and participated in a detailed meeting to discuss enhancing the practical skills of young veterinarians.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the meeting chaired by Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad focused on soliciting suggestions from Dr. Ajaz Rashid about improving the practical work competencies of young veterinarians. The aim was to train them to meet international standards and serve as highly skilled human resources in well-known countries. The Chairman of the Department of Parasitology, Prof Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Director Planning Dr. Asif Salman Sahi, Additional Director Dr. Zubair Bari from the Livestock Department, and senior faculty members of UVAS were also present.

During the meeting, Dr. Rashid emphasized the importance for young veterinarians to gain practical experience in disease diagnosis, surgery, and proper handling and treatment of animals. He highlighted the necessity of staying abreast with the latest knowledge, practices, and professional skills, especially in surgical techniques like spay surgery for dogs and cats, to enhance their professional competencies.

Dr. Asif Sahi advocated for the updating of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) curriculum by increasing practical work to meet market requirements. He also acknowledged UVAS’s efforts in arranging informative boot camps to impart crucial clinical knowledge and practices to young veterinary professionals, which he described as timely and essential. Dr. Rashid had earlier delivered an informative lecture on “Evidence Based Clinical Studies” to participants of the boot camp.

The visit of Dr. Ajaz Rashid to UVAS underscores the university’s commitment to advancing veterinary education and practice by collaborating with internationally recognized professionals in the field.

Jamshoro, Rashid Ali Salavat, a dedicated photographer at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has retired after a commendable service spanning over 30 years. The university celebrated his retirement with various events, acknowledging his consistent and honest contributions to the institution.



According to University of Sindh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro personally paid tribute to Rashid Ali Salavat, praising his unwavering dedication and integrity during his service. Dr. Kalhoro expressed his happiness over Salavat retiring in good health and wished him well for his life post-retirement.



On the day of his retirement, Rashid Ali Salavat was honored in two separate farewell functions organized by the officers’ community of the University of Sindh. The first function was held in the Public Relations Section, where colleagues including Sajjad Hussain Shah, Pir Bakhsh Bajir, and others presented Salavat with floral gifts, Sindhi cap, and Ajrak, a traditional Sindhi shawl. His colleagues lauded his sincerity and honesty throughout his tenure, where he worked with various public relations officers and vice-chancellors.



Public Relations Officer Nader Ali Mugheri also highlighted Salavat’s dedication, noting his readiness to respond to calls at any hour without unnecessary leaves. Mugheri shared that Salavat was known for his daily routine of greeting colleagues in the morning and bidding farewell at the end of the day.



Additionally, Advisor Planning and Development Sajid Qayyum Memon hosted a tea party in Salavat’s honor, attended by many officers, including Nadeem Butt, as a gesture of appreciation and farewell.



Rashid Ali Salavat’s journey at the University of Sindh began on August 14, 1993, as a photographer. Over the years, he earned promotions through his hard work and commitment to improving both his education and practical skills. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Library Science and passed the Sindh Public Service Commission examination for librarians, which led to a grade 17 position in college education. Despite his new qualification, Salavat continued to serve as a photographer at the university, a role he diligently fulfilled until his retirement.



His career at the University of Sindh is marked by dedication and a commitment to excellence, leaving a legacy that the university community deeply appreciates and respects.
