NA-77 Election Results Highlight Voter Support Discrepancy

Gujranwala: In the recent General Elections of 2024, the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) elected from NA-77 Gujranwala-I secured the seat with 43 percent of the votes cast, amounting to 109,704 votes. This figure represents only 23 percent of the total registered voters in the constituency, which stands at 483,104.

According to Free and Fair Election Network, the Final Consolidated Result (Form-49) for the constituency revealed a voter turnout of 52 percent. The election outcome showed that a majority of voters who participated in the election, approximately 135,084 or 54 percent, opted for candidates other than the winner, indicating a lack of widespread support for the elected representative.

The runner-up in the election garnered 36 percent of the votes, while the candidate in third place received seven percent. Other candidates collectively accumulated 10 percent of the votes. Additionally, 7,417 votes, accounting for three percent of the total ballots, were declared invalid.
