Islamabad, Murad Ali Shah, the former Chief Minister of Sindh, has credited the success of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in recent elections to its track record of service to the people, particularly during trying times. He dismissed the notion of a new coalition forming without PPP’s support and criticized the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) for what he perceived as manipulation of political figures.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Murad Ali Shah, while addressing a press conference in Islamabad, expressed gratitude to the citizens of Sindh for their overwhelming support of PPP and discussed the party’s intent to form the next provincial government. He reflected on the PPP’s consistent presence alongside the populace through crises, including the coronavirus pandemic.
Shah made pointed remarks regarding Pir Sahib Pagara, suggesting that the GDA had exploited his influence, and urged Pagara to reconsider his affiliations. He recounted allegations of electoral misconduct against GDA candidates and condemned violence that occurred during the electoral process.
Shah also questioned the legitimacy of MQM’s success in acquiring fifteen seats and hinted at a review of these results. He reaffirmed PPP’s commitment to maintaining Karachi’s peace and order, mentioning PPP’s electoral gains in the city. Emphasizing PPP’s pivotal role in government formation, he stated that decisions regarding the Chief Minister of Sindh would align with the party’s leadership and the country’s best interests.
