LUMS Alumni Reconnect and Celebrate Achievements at SDSB Luminites Reunion

Lahore, Alumni of the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) convened for their annual reunion on February 19, 2024, fostering connections and honoring the accomplishments of their peers. The event was a vibrant mix of networking, celebration, and recognition, emphasizing the strength and impact of the alumni community.

According to Lahore University of Management Sciences, the reunion, orchestrated by the SDSB Luminites Association, featured Mr. Anwar Kabir (MBA 2007), the President of the Association, who welcomed the attendees and reflected on the Association’s 35-year history. He highlighted the transformative stories of alumni and the importance of giving back, creating a supportive ecosystem for fellow graduates.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of the Pride of LUMS Award to Mr. Muhtashim Ahmad Ashai (MBA 1992), President of Soneri Bank Limited, for his remarkable professional journey and contributions. The event also recognized Mr. Furqan Ahmad Syed (MBA 1995), CEO of PepsiCo, who paid homage to the core values imparted by LUMS and acknowledged the significant influence of the University’s leadership.

A poignant moment of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Awards given to Professors Emeriti for their enduring dedication and service to LUMS. The ceremony also celebrated the Changemakers, alumni who have made substantial impacts in various sectors, furthering the legacy of SDSB and LUMS in the broader community.

Dr. Ali Cheema, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, in his closing remarks, underscored the integral role alumni play in forging pathways for the University’s progress. Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director of the Office of Advancement at LUMS, took the opportunity to announce the launch of the Alumni Connect portal and acknowledged the alumni’s generous support. The evening concluded with a collective acknowledgment of the shared achievements and continued excellence of LUMS alumni, as commemorated by Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood, Pro Chancellor of LUMS, who praised the concrete frameworks that contribute to the University’s success.
