Gilgit, The Karakoram International University has announced the appointment of Mir Tazeem Akhtar as the new Director of Planning and Development. Akhtar, who has previously served as the Director of Public Relations at the university, is recognized for his significant contributions in enhancing the university’s image and initiating key projects during his tenure.
According to Karakoram International University, Mir Tazeem Akhtar’s appointment comes after a notable four-year term as Director of Public Relations. In this role, he was instrumental in publishing ‘The Karakoram’, the first English magazine in the history of Gilgit-Baltistan, and in producing the first and second profile documentaries for the university. He also established KIUFM 99 and U Web TV, which played a crucial role in improving the university’s national and international reputation.
During his time as Director of Public Relations, Akhtar provided valuable opportunities for students in media and communication studies to gain practical experience. His efforts in promoting the positive aspects of the university have been widely recognized and appreciated by the public, as well as by the teachers and management staff of the university.
Upon his new appointment, Mir Tazeem Akhtar expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah, and emphasized his commitment to leveraging his skills for the betterment of the Planning and Development Department.
