Karachi: Nadeem Omar, President of Regional Cricket Association Karachi, stated the city has no shortage of cricket talent, predicting future stars among its Under-15 players. Speaking at the Oval Ground, NBP Cricket Stadium, Omar inaugurated the RCAK Under-15 Challenge League Cricket Tournament. According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, Omar expressed gratitude to Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, and Abdullah Khurram Niazi, Director of Domestic Cricket Operations, for enabling Karachi’s participation in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. He highlighted that U-15 and U-17 tournaments are integral to Niazi’s “Cricket for All” initiative, aimed at showcasing emerging talent.
Khalid Nafees, Chairman of the Tournament Committee, affirmed Omar’s continued leadership, praising his commitment to cricket promotion. The tournament commenced with a ceremonial ball hit by Omar, followed by RCAK Green defeating RCAK Yellow by 108 runs. Muhammad Imam’s century was instrumental in RCAK Green’s victory, with the team scoring 287/3 in 40 overs. RCAK Yellow managed 179/6 in their innings.
In another match, RCAK Blues triumphed over RCAK Whites by eight wickets at Jinnah College Ground. RCAK Whites were all out for 144 in 37.4 overs, while RCAK Blues achieved 148/2 in 24.5 overs. The event saw attendance from various RCA Karachi officials, underscoring the tournament’s significance in the local cricket scene.
