Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, announced the World Culture Festival 2025, a landmark event featuring participation from 141 countries. Scheduled to commence on October 30 and run until December 7, the festival will be held at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi.
The announcement was made at a press conference led by Mohammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council, and Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Minister of Culture and Tourism for Sindh. The event is set to feature over 1,000 artists from around the globe, encompassing 45 theatre performances, 60 music shows, and 25 dance performances.
In addition, the festival will include six art exhibitions, training sessions, and talks. More than 2,800 films have been submitted for screening, including works from Israeli and Indian filmmakers, despite political tensions.
Mr. Shah emphasized the festival’s role in promoting peace, asserting that Karachi will become a cultural nucleus amid global challenges. He acknowledged the Sindh government’s support, highlighting Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah’s commitment to the arts.
Renowned artists such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Sanam Marvi will perform, and the program will include an Images Festival and environmental workshops. Daily film screenings will occur at 4 PM, with several directors attending.
Minister Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah expressed pride in the increased participation compared to the previous edition. He affirmed the festival’s goal of portraying Pakistan as a peaceful and welcoming nation.
The festival aims to provide a platform for cultural exchange and mutual understanding, showcasing Sindh’s rich heritage to an international audience. Participating countries include the United States, France, Saudi Arabia, and many others, reflecting a diverse representation from all continents.
