Haripur: A research scholar from the University of Haripur has successfully defended his PhD thesis on developing environment-friendly biocides to combat the Aedes aegypti mosquito, a key vector in the transmission of dengue fever. Mr. Tahir Badshah's work, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abid Farid, the Vice Chancellor of the University, has been praised for its scientific significance and practical implications.

According to the University of Haripur, the thesis defense was evaluated by external examiners, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ur Rehman Saljoqi, Vice Chancellor at Islamia College University, Peshawar, and Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed from Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan. The research focuses on exploiting indigenous plants to develop biocides that are environmentally safe and effective against the dengue-transmitting mosquito.

Mr. Tahir Badshah, who serves as District Director at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture Extension Department, received commendations from faculty members, colleagues, and the Department of Entomology for his academic achievement.
