Lahore, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, has announced the launch of a nationwide movement after Eid-ul-Azha aimed at reinforcing constitutional supremacy, legal adherence, and liberating the populace from oppressive systems. The movement is set to address a variety of national issues, including electoral integrity and socioeconomic inequalities.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, during a press conference after the Central Majlis Shura meeting in Mansurah, Rehman criticized current governmental policies and announced plans to challenge social and economic disparities through mobilization of the youth. He highlighted the need for significant reforms in election processes, transparency in government operations, and advocacy for an independent foreign policy.
Rehman’s sweeping critique covered various areas, from the ineffective use of educational funds to the plight of women in the workforce. He also called for the completion of the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, challenging American influence on Pakistan’s energy decisions. The movement promises to address these issues through direct action and policy advocacy, focusing on tangible improvements in education, industry, and agriculture.
