Jamaat-e-Islami Candidate Liaquat Baloch Criticizes Rival Parties for Punjab’s Political Strife

Lahore, Liaquat Baloch, the National Assembly candidate for NA 123 and NA 128, has expressed strong criticism towards what he perceives as the detrimental influence of established political forces and their projects on the politics of Punjab, which he believes have led to division and corruption. Baloch asserts that the traditional parties have been misleading the public with new tactics to secure power.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Baloch argues that the voters have now become more aware and will not allow these entities, whom he accuses of being responsible for the country’s decline, to advance. He contends that Jamaat-e-Islami represents the best option for the electorate, symbolizing national peace, stability, prosperity, and adherence to the rule of law.

In his campaign addresses to various community groups including women, youth, and scholars, Baloch stated that despite attempts to evade the upcoming February 8 elections, the Constitution, judiciary, Election Commission, and the people’s right to vote have thwarted such efforts. He emphasized that elections are crucial for resolving crises and ensuring political stability, and that fair competition depends on the democratic conduct of the political leadership and parties.

Baloch also highlighted the public’s struggle with the energy crisis, rising utility bills, and inflation, holding the ruling parties responsible for unfavorable electricity contracts and poor governance that have made education, healthcare, and employment challenging for the citizens. He called on the people to reject what he termed as incompetent and illegitimate political parties.

At a conference with experts and dignitaries, Baloch argued for leadership that prioritizes national interests over personal ones, possessing the vision, competence, trust, and integrity to extricate the country from its severe crises. He advocated for Jamaat-e-Islami, praising its role in championing Islamic values, democracy, and national unity. Baloch concluded by reiterating his party’s commitment to making Pakistan a prosperous Islamic nation.
