Jamaat-e-Islami Leader Calls for Grand National Dialogue to Overcome Polarization in Pakistan

Lahore, Siraj-ul-Haq, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has called for a Grand National Dialogue to bridge the deep political divides plaguing the country. He proposed the initiative as a means to foster stability and end the current environment of hostility.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq announced that after February 8, his party would work to bring all political parties to the negotiating table. During his address at election rallies in his constituency NA-6 Rihanpur, Union Council Lajbok, and other locations in Derpine, he emphasized that while individual differences contribute to society’s diversity and advancement, the current level of toxic polarization is causing chaos and division. He accused the ruling parties of exacerbating political and societal divisions and committed to ending this trend.

In his speech, Siraj-ul-Haq highlighted the need for a 40-year economic plan to cater to Pakistan’s growing population. He pointed out that Jamaat-e-Islami has already outlined a five-year plan in its election manifesto, detailing foundational points for the country’s long-term needs. He pledged that, if elected, his party would focus on implementing this manifesto, emphasizing the importance of education for women and girls, infrastructural development in primary education, innovation in the energy sector, and the eradication of usury from the economy.

The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami also spoke of the urgent need to address basic state responsibilities, such as providing food, education, and healthcare, in light of the projected population growth. He criticized previous rulers for neglecting these duties and leaving millions of children out of school and a significant portion of the population without access to clean water. Siraj-ul-Haq pointed to the disarray in the healthcare system, the lack of justice for the weak, prevalent corruption, and the failure of accountability institutions as challenges that his party is prepared to tackle.

Furthermore, Siraj-ul-Haq condemned previous governments, including those of PML-N, PPP, and PTI, as well as dictatorial regimes, for their failure to address unemployment, inflation, and poverty, and for compromising on critical issues such as Kashmir and Palestine. He called upon the youth and the media, whom he commended for uncovering the ruling elite’s true colors, to support Jamaat-e-Islami in the upcoming elections.

He concluded by presenting Jamaat-e-Islami as the sole viable option for voters seeking a clean, green, and corruption-free Pakistan, urging them to reject the tried and tested parties and cast their ballots in favor of his party’s candidates.
