Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan to Host European Union Election Monitors in Lahore

Lahore, Dr. Farid Ahmad Paracha, Deputy Amir and Secretary of the Election Cell of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, announced that a delegation from the European Union Election Monitoring Group will visit the party’s headquarters in Mansurah on January 26 to meet with its central leaders.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, the meeting at Mansurah will include prominent figures such as Deputy Amir Liaquat Baloch, Secretary General Amirul Azim, Deputy Amir Farid Paracha, Dr. Humira Tariq, and Dr. Samiha Raheel Qazi. Dr. Paracha spoke from the central election cell in Mansurah, detailing the engagement with the EU delegation and outlining the party’s electoral campaign activities.

From January 26 to February 2, Jamaat-e-Islami candidates from across the country will connect with the electorate outside mosques. Dr. Paracha called on imams to discuss the Shariah perspective of voting in their sermons, urging them to remind congregations that voting is a sacred trust and must be exercised with integrity.

The meeting was also attended by Farhan Hanjara, Imran Zahoor Ghazi, Ayaz Umar, and Inayat Rahman. The visit by the EU Election Monitoring Group underscores the international interest in Pakistan’s democratic processes and Jamaat-e-Islami’s active role in the electoral landscape.
