Bahawalpur: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur held a seminar titled “Peaceful Co-existence in the light of Seerat-ul-Nabi,” focusing on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a guide for harmony and understanding. The event, organized by the Department of World Religions and Interfaith Harmony, coincided with the month of Rabi-ul-Awal and attracted notable figures from various faculties and the broader community.
According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, graced the seminar as the chief guest, while Mufti Intikhab Ahmed, a member of the Islamic Ideological Council, served as the guest of honor. The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and other distinguished academicians and students.
In his address, Deputy Speaker Channar praised the university’s efforts in organizing the seminar and emphasized the relevance of Prophet Muhammad’s life as a beacon of guidance for both religious and worldly betterment. He highlighted the university’s role in promoting Islamic teachings under the guidance of its respected faculty.
Mufti Intikhab Ahmed spoke about the universal mercy embodied by Prophet Muhammad, describing his life as a cornerstone of success for humanity in both this world and the hereafter. He stressed that the Prophet’s message of kindness and peaceful co-existence transcends religious boundaries and is applicable to all of humanity.
Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, in her vote of thanks, reiterated the seminar’s aim to embed Islamic teachings in daily life as a means to achieve success and peace. She underscored the importance of adopting the Prophet’s examples to foster a peaceful and moderate society.
Dr. Sajeela Kausar, Chairperson of the Department of World Religions and Interfaith Harmony, provided the welcome speech, thanking the guests for their participation and underscoring the seminar’s significance in promoting interfaith understanding and peaceful coexistence.
