Karachi: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi’s Fine Art Committee organized a live painting session titled “Brush Hour” at Haseena Moin Hall, featuring the creative talents of painter A. S. Rind and his daughter Umina Khan. The duo collaborated on the same canvas, employing both charcoal and oil paint, while engaging with the audience by answering questions. The event, which was highly appreciated by art enthusiasts, highlighted the unique dynamic and artistic synergy between the father and daughter.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the session attracted several notable attendees, including Member of the National Assembly Sharmila Faruqui, Fine Art Committee Chairman Farrukh Shahab, and other distinguished figures from the art community. During the event, Farrukh Shahab presented shields to A. S. Rind and Umina Khan, acknowledging their significant contributions to fine arts. Sharmila Faruqui expressed admiration for the collaborative effort, remarking on the visible heritage of women in their work. A. S. Rind shared insights into his artistic inspiration, emphasizing storytelling and the theme of women, while Umina Khan expressed her joy in fulfilling her dream of painting alongside her father. Khan noted the distinct differences in their work and shared her experiences as a female artist, encouraging others to paint freely from their minds.
