IoBM Graduate Wins PKR 5 Million HEC Grant for Textile Recycling Innovation

Karachi, Minzah Shehzad, a distinguished alumna of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Karachi, has been awarded a PKR 5.0 million grant from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) for her pioneering work on developing a textile waste recycling machine. This achievement underscores the institute’s dedication to fostering academic and research excellence within its community.

According to Institute of Business Management, Shehzad’s project, titled “Developing Textile Waste Recycling Machine,” was part of her Capstone project for the MBA Environment and Energy Management (EEM) program. Under the mentorship of Dr. Jamshaid Iqbal, Assistant Professor in EEM, her innovative work not only highlights the potential for sustainable practices in the textile industry but also sets a benchmark for future research and development in environmental management.

This Rapid Technology Transfer Grant from the HEC represents a significant recognition of Shehzad’s contribution to the field and IoBM’s role in promoting cutting-edge research and technology development. The grant will further enable IoBM to continue its mission of contributing positively to society through academic and research endeavors, particularly in areas critical to Pakistan’s economic and environmental sustainability.
