Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has significantly advanced in various academic rankings, a testament to its research-focused approach, as per Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, Rector of IIUI. This progress was highlighted during the closing ceremony of a 10-day workshop on research methodology in social sciences, a joint effort by the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) and the Directorate of Graduate Studies at IIUI.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the workshop attracted around 100 scholars from prestigious institutions across Pakistan, including IIUI, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Minhaj University Lahore, Air University Islamabad, BUITEMS Quetta, Qurtaba University Peshawar, Hamdard University Karachi, and the Women University of Multan. Designed to cater to both physical and online participants, the workshop aimed to elevate the standards of social science research to meet global academic practices.
Prof. Dr. Samina Malik emphasized the evolving trends in social science research and the critical importance of adopting advanced research methodologies. She commended the IRD for securing top-tier resource persons for the workshop, underscoring the university’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence and research innovation.
The workshop covered a broad spectrum of topics essential for contemporary research, including data collection, formulation of research objectives, qualitative methods, data analysis, and strategies for maintaining research focus. The session concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants and the presentation of shields to the esteemed resource persons, including Dr. Sham Haider, Dr. Sajid Yousafzai, Dr. Yasir Hussain, Dr. Rabia Ali, and Dr. Qandil Abbas.
The event was also attended by notable figures such as Director IRD, Syed Hassan Aftab, and Incharge Directorate of Graduate Studies, Dr. Suhail Abdullah, along with the coordinating team of the IRD.
